When completed, it will be the world’s most powerful accelerator-based neutron source for studying matter. At ESS, we will have one of the world’s most powerful accelerators, designed to break free neutrons from a spallation target. One of the key components in our linear accelerator is the magnets. Lots of strong magnets are needed to guide, focus and steer the beam of protons on its journey towards the target. First-ever in-situ conditioning of a Spoke Cryomodule in the ESS superconducting linac achieved! The ESS DMSC summer school is drawing closer!   From 2-6 September, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the role of data in neutron scattering at the ESS Data Management & Software Centre summer school 2024. This one-week training, held in Copenhagen, will cover the full data pipeline through various lectures and workshops. A visit to the ESS facility in Lund will be one of the highlights!   Participation in the school and the field trip is free of charge and thanks to the generous support from Carlsberg Foundation, accommodation is included as well. It certainly was a week of knowledge exchange, collaboration and learning, as the Accelerator Reliability Workshop (#ARW2024) took place in Helsingborg, Sweden. The event, jointly hosted by European Spallation Source ERIC and MAX IV Laboratory, brought together the worldwide accelerator community and other industries to exchange experiences in designing, testing, commissioning, operating, and maintaining reliable facilities. With almost 200 participants from 18 countries, the workshop was a truly international event.
