    Our North American team has been working hard to electrify their fleet of forklift trucks used to move materials one from manufacturing plant to another. The result? 95% of the fleet is now electrified with the fleet to be fully electrified in the next six years.   This is another important step toward our goal to reduce 97% of carbon emissions in operations by 2030.   Watch the film to learn more.     We proudly showcased our brands, AEG and Electrolux, for the very first time at prestigious international design event Design Shanghai – held in June with the aim to explore how Eastern and Western design philosophies can work together. Our exhibition highlighted a century of modern European design and emphasized how household appliances can contribute to a more sustainable home environment. AEG and Electrolux both presented their unique design aesthetics — AEG with its German Bauhaus-inspired simplicity and Electrolux with its Scandinavian, sustainable style. Meanwhile, our VP Sustainability for Europe, APMEA sarah schaefer delivered a keynote about AI and sustainability at Design Shanghai’s Sustainable Design Summit.     🏆 Our Electrolux brand's Pure 900 Series Air Purifier Humidifier has won Product of the Year at the 2024 Plastics Recycling Awards Europe! The product is made with 98% recycled fabric and up to 60.6% recycled plastic with no paint. Winning in the Automotive, Electrical or Electronic Product category, the product was highly praised by judges for the high percentage of post-consumer recycled content used in a well-designed and multifunctional way. Earlier this year, the product also won a Red Dot Design Award. “When we started this project we set out to create our best air purifier with the lowest environmental impact possible. We focused on creating a calm, timeless design that will live for a long time irrespective of changing trends. The materials are honest and treated in a way to bring out the best of them all. This is a well-deserved award for the project team's hard work," says Senior Design Lead Air Care, Martin Alexanderson. The Electrolux 900 Series (and AEG 9500 Series) are currently available in Taiwan and will be launched in Europe later this year. #design #sustainability #innovation #productdesign #award #shapelivingforthebetter

    We’re very proud to be recognized as one of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies in TIME's inaugural sustainability ranking. We are ranked 89 out of the 500 companies from around the world that made the list. The world’s 5,000 leading companies, from various sectors, went through a rigorous assessment process. Time explains that the companies at the top of the list (including us) have signed on to some of the most respected climate programs including the 1.5°C target from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), received high scores from CDP and have incorporated sustainability into their business models. The assessment not only included environmental sustainability criteria such as emissions targets and energy efficiency, but also social sustainability such as employee diversity and work safety.   “This recognition means a lot to us and we remain committed to continue our journey to reduce our carbon footprint according to science, as well as caring for people around us," says Elena Breda, our Chief Technology and Sustainability Officer.   Earlier this year, we were also named one of Europe’s Climate Leaders by the Financial Times. Laundering alone causes around half a million tons of plastic microfibers to be released into the ocean every year - the equivalent of releasing almost three billion polyester shirts into the ocean.   Here's how our product innovation can help. Our Microplastic Filter can capture up to 90% of microplastic fibers being released from synthetic clothing during laundering, supporting consumers who want to take care of their clothes while reducing their own environmental impact.    The filter, designed to fit on the laundry wall and made from 50% recycled plastic, works with both Electrolux and AEG washing machines.     Why celebrating Pride empowers us all 💪🏽🌈 What I love about Electrolux Group recognising Pride is that it showcases to the wider industry our commitment to being an inclusive organisation that embraces diversity. It’s really important to me that everyone has an equal voice at the table, regardless of their sex, race, religious views, sexual orientation or gender identity. Celebrating Pride gives all of us at Electrolux Group a chance to reflect on how we treat each other so that we can nurture a workplace culture where diversity is not just acknowledged but celebrated, and where everyone thrives. And it makes individuals like me feel fully welcomed to show up as my authentic self every day. 🌟👥🌈 Feeling supported means everything 🌈 🌟💖 When the organisation shows up for LGBT employees, it has a huge impact. I've always felt embraced by everyone within our organisation here in Australia. However, this year has truly been exceptional. For the first time, the business “came out,” showing its support for LGBT employees and their allies by hosting a Mardi Gras celebration at the office, coinciding with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival. 🎉🏳️🌈 Australia’s LGBT community has faced its share of challenges, but thanks to brave queer icons like the 78’ers, who protested peacefully in 1978 to commemorate the Stonewall Riots, progress was made. The Stonewall Riots were a defining moment for the LGBT community. On June 28, 1969, patrons of the Stonewall Inn in Manhattan, US, stood up to a police raid, sparking a significant shift in the fight for equality. ✊🏾🏳️🌈 Despite facing police intervention and brutal treatment, these pioneers unknowingly sparked the first Sydney Mardi Gras, now a global symbol of diversity and equality. Today, Sydney Mardi Gras is a monumental event, uniting thousands in pride and progress. 🌍🏳️🌈🎉 The 78’ers continue to inspire us, reminding us to fight for equality every day. ✨🌈 Celebrating Mardi Gras at the office marked another significant step forward for the Australia-New Zealand business in demonstrating its solidarity with LGBT employees. Witnessing all my colleagues come together for a cheeky game of Drag Queen Bingo to celebrate Mardi Gras with lots of glitter, fabulous outfits, and plenty of laughter, it was a moment that filled me with immense pride. #lifeatelectroluxgroup #pride #pride2024 #diversityandinclusion #asyouare #LGBT
