Filippa, currently studying Environmental Science at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo, will analyse the feed market and explore opportunities for phosphorus recovery in Canada. The eight-week summer trainee program is organised by Ragn-Sells, of which EasyMining is a part, and gives trainees the chance to lead their own projects within the company.

♻ Wir setzen neue Maßstäbe im Phosphorrecycling aus Klärschlammaschen und ebnen den Weg für eine bessere Kreislaufwirtschaft mit klimafreundlichen Wertschöpfungsketten. Dafür gehen wir gemeinsam mit EasyMining und Ragn-Sells einen wichtigen Schritt, um die Abwasser-Wertschöpfungskette zu schließen. 🎇 EasyMining baut mit uns als Partner die weltweit erste Phosphorrecycling-Anlage, die mit dem Ash2®Phos-Verfahren arbeiten wird. Die Anlage soll Anfang 2027 in Schkopau in Betrieb gehen. Damit sorgen wir gemeinsam für einen Paradigmenwechsel in der Phosphorrecycling-Technologie. ✔ Die Anlage wird eine Kapazität von ca. 30.000 Tonnen Klärschlammasche pro Jahr haben – das sind 5% der in Deutschland produzierten Klärschlammaschen-Menge. In Schkopau werden zukünftig mehr als 2.500 Tonnen reiner Phosphor gewonnen. Yesterday Ragn-Sells' Chief Sustainability Officer, Pär Larshans, led a key discussion on trade and water at the WTO's Trade and Environmental Sustainability Structured Discussions (TESSD). Co-convened by Canada and Costa Rica, this session is a major step forward in the global conversation on water sustainability. “It is a true honour to be invited to deliver a keynote speech on the impacts of global warming on our freshwater supplies and to discuss actionable solutions to mitigate these risks,” says Larshans. He emphasises transforming wastewater treatment plants into resource plants, embracing circular principles to generate high-quality raw materials, detoxify environments, and produce essential resources like freshwater, energy, and fertilisers. EasyMining, Aarhus University, and DLG-koncernen are launching a project to evaluate the digestion of recycled feed phosphate by newly weaned pigs. The study is crucial for obtaining potential EU approval of recycled feed phosphate as a sustainable feed ingredient. "Recycling phosphorus from sewage sludge ash ensures local production, enhancing countries' resilience and food security,” says Sara Stiernström, Project Manager at EasyMining.
