A peaker plant in Idaho had significant issues with corrosion, rust and paint peeling throughout their air intake system leading to bypass. Further, issues with fouling and high pressure drop led to aggressive maintenance cycles, requiring multiple washes per year and frequent filter change-outs. After a comprehensive assessment, Camfil recommended a full filterhouse replacement to go from G4 media pads to T9 pulse filters, as well as a cooling system. An oil and gas major located in the Gulf of Thailand faced challenges with their gas turbines due to short filter life, hot corrosion, and power loss. Camfil’s retrofit solution achieved a 52% improvement in pressure drop, extending filter life to 12 months. Corrosion issues were eliminated, and 6% more power was achieved after firing up the engine post-installation.
