Making magic from old boilers ✨ When switching to a heat pump, people finally get to say goodbye to their polluting boilers for good, but what happens to them next? At Aira, we manage the recycling and disposal of our customers’ old boilers when they upgrade to an Aira Heat Pump; however, for World Clean Up Day, we wanted to do something a little different. We enlisted the help of Brighton-based artist, Charis Williams, AKA The Salvage Sister, to upcycle three old boilers - and what a transformation, from gas-fueled boilers to non-polluting household furniture.💡 We sat down with Charis to learn more about turning waste into wanted items, and what it was like working with Aira on this project to give boilers a new purpose. Following the recent Save-Home Decree, which simplifies building procedures and will allow Italian clients to install heat pumps within 12 Kw without any permits, Aira IT CEO, Anthony Loizeau shares his thoughts: “Currently, the adoption of heat pumps is at an early stage in most European countries, with around 130 million households still using gas boilers. By 2030, at least 10 million heat pumps per year will have to be sold and installed in Europe. Unfortunately, in our country 67% of families still use fossil fuels to heat their homes and this contributes to producing 12% of national CO2 emissions. The new "home-saving" law certainly streamlines bureaucracy by providing help to facilitate the transition towards the adoption of heat pumps and reduce emissions. But bureaucracy is not the only barrier to entry.  Today consumers are a little scared of the costs, confused about the product and discouraged by the number of professionals they have to interface with once they have chosen to switch to this solution: seller, installer, assistance. To be competitive in a context like this, it is important to be able to offer services that can really make a difference. For example, Aira provides its customer's payment plans in monthly instalments, to make the investment more accessible and promising 40% savings on heating costs, adopting a consumer-oriented approach that allows the user to have a single interlocutor to communicate with, from the initial stages of evaluating the best system, up to the sale, installation and possible technical assistance. Once you decide to switch to a heat pump, we guarantee installation within 30 days of the approved quote: a quick and efficient service.” Anthony Loizeau, Aira Italy CEO
