Celebrating Success at Kempinski Seychelles Resort! We are thrilled to announce that 13 dedicated team members have successfully graduated from our Supervisor Development Program. This comprehensive training program is designed to empower new supervisors with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their roles from day one. Through a series of detailed modules, participants learn about the critical responsibilities of a supervisor, from task management to team engagement and development. The program includes group discussions to deepen their understanding of supervisory roles and individual exercises to personalize their learning experience. It concludes with an impactful project, completed in collaboration with their line manager, to apply their new skills directly within their departments. Delivered internally through 9 focused modules, this program ensures our supervisors are well-prepared to lead and inspire their teams. Last week, Kempinski Seychelles Resort had the privilege of collaborating with Tourism Seychelles for a High-Level meeting focusing on our accomplishments in sustainability projects. The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary for Tourism, Ms Sherin Francis, and several stakeholders within the tourism industry. Led by Akram Elsherbiny, our Health, Hygiene, Safety, and Sustainability Manager, we highlighted several key initiatives, including our PV solar system, which has curbed greenhouse emissions by 30%, and our reduction of plastic bottle usage by 80% through the provision of glass bottles in every room. The resort also partners with local initiatives for waste oil recycling, employ recycled rainwater for irrigation, and compost green waste. Our Green Linen Artefacts initiative offers guests sustainable options, complemented by energy management systems and water-saving technologies in our rooms. We also discussed the launch of new programs such as fruit tree planting to offset carbon footprints and supply fresh fruit to the resort. The meeting ended with a tour of the resort, where the attendees were presented with all the initiatives that had been introduced. Our collaboration with Tourism Seychelles reaffirms Kempinski Seychelles Resort's dedication to sustainability. On Monday, June 3rd, 2024, Kempinski Seychelles Resort proudly hosted an educational workshop in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to mark World Environment Day. The workshop welcomed a group of students from the Anse Royale Secondary Eco School Club and was also attended by enthusiastic team members of the resort. The workshop focused on important environmental issues affecting Seychelles and the global community. Topics discussed included rainfall patterns leading to flooding and landslides, extended periods of drought, increased sea temperature and changes in acidity, damage to ecosystems, increases in storms and storm surges, and rising sea levels. Each topic was thoroughly explored, providing the students with valuable insights into the pressing environmental challenges of our time. The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged the students to engage deeply with the facilitators from the Ministry and give their own point of view in regard to the change in the environment and climate around them. Following the presentations, the students received certificates of participation, recognising their commitment to learning about and addressing environmental issues. World Environment Day 2024 was a significant reminder of the collective responsibility we share in protecting our planet. Renrick, who is a Barbadian national, began his professional career in 2010 and over the next decade, evolved into an exceptionally innovative culinary expert. He gained illustrious experience enhancing the reputation of renowned restaurants through the skillful creation of diverse and distinctive menu offerings. His steadfast career progression from junior roles to the esteemed position of executive sous chef at prestigious establishments such as; VLE Necker Island and The Sands Hotel, exemplifies his leadership and dedication to the art. Recognised as an expert in new menu development, specialty cuisine, and world-class guest relations. His adeptness extends to purchasing, inventory control, and maintaining rigorous safety and sanitation standards. This expertise is backed by his education at the Pormarine Hospitality Institute and specialized courses in cakes and pastry, human resource management, WSET Level 1, and certified first aid, showcasing him as a well-rounded expert in culinary leadership.
