For the Construct Jam 2024, this game - called 1444 - is based on the Jam theme of ‘escalation’.

You must reach the top of the pyramid to stop the flow of bombs, and then help the bombs to quickly fall from the top of the pyramid within 60 seconds.

Failing to get all bombs to reach the bottom of the screen in time means that there is going to be one big kaboom!

Your high scores are recorded locally.

crazy and fun!

1444

this is an image to show that the game CAN be completed. The ‘2’ on the right hand side of the screenshot shows the best score. I completed it with 2 seconds to spare. Best I have done is 5 seconds to spare.

Nice idea, but I think that the cyan platforms disappear too early. It would be good if they give you at least one chance to use them. It could be that I am bad at this type of games though!

I tried it 3-4 times and could never reach the top. I have noticed that going full screen the jump input suffer about 1 second delay. Not sure if it's related to my computer or monitor because it's wide screen.

Have anyone else noticed the delay at full screen?

Nice effect when the whole thing blown away!

Nice nostalgic feeling.

I would have done maybe the player a bit more human or such, if it's at least 8 pixel tall.

It is a tough game I think. But didn’t see any delays when I was playing on itch. Strange.

Cool, than it might be something happening playing it on a ultra wide screen. I will check it again later, once I get a bit less busy from my work.
Thank you for checking it out :)

Hey Samuel,
I tried again the game on my laptop using its screen instead of the ultra wide connected with HDMI. The control respond well, so the issue is the monitor that I don't know why, but doesn't like the game to be played there.

I am going to adjust the feedback and post it in the Game Jam submission page :-)

Still strange. I have an ultra wide myself. When I tested a couple of the other jam games I couldn’t get them to work at first, but others could. Maybe some itch issues at the moment?

I had this occurring a couple of times in the past, especially the first time was very bad.

I did a presentation for a game jam of a pinball game I made and connecting to the TV via HDMI, my pinball was playing super slow.

At that time, talking to other developers I discover that sometimes it might happens, maybe depending on the device. Though it's the first time I have noticed this with this monitor and I have it for 3-4 years now.

Anyway, I am glad the issue is on my side and not yours, that means that Construct works fine :)
