MAKEEN is thrilled to announce a significant milestone that marks a major step forward for our project with the Jeddah Airport Company and the Saudi Diesel Equipment Company. The project consists of five HiMSEN 9H32/40 power generating units by our shareholder HD Hyundai for the 18MW emergency load centers at Jeddah Airport, operated by our valued partner, Saudi Diesel Equipment Company. The first two units have successfully undergone Factory Acceptance Testing in the HD Hyundai EMD facility in Ulsan, Korea, and will soon be shipped to Saudi Arabia. This project has been a significant learning opportunity for MAKEEN to build its capabilities for the local manufacture of similar power generating units once local facilities are operational. #MAKEEN #HHI #Jeddah #airport #SaudiArabia #Engineering #excellence

MAKEEN welcomed a high-level delegation from Rolls-Royce Power Systems to the company’s headquarters in Dhahran. The delegation engaged in dynamic discussions aimed at exploring new opportunities for collaboration. The meeting explored MAKEEN's progress as the first approved licensee in the MENA region, reflecting our commitment to driving innovation and enhancing our collaborative efforts in the power systems sector. In a significant step to strengthen industrial capabilities in the Kingdom, MAKEEN and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries have signed a license agreement to manufacture HiMSEN dual fuel engines in Saudi Arabia.   The agreement was signed in Zurich, Switzerland by Mr. Sangkee Rhee, Executive Vice President of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Mr. Bader Al-Zoabi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of MAKEEN, in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Al-Shammary, Chairman of MAKEEN, and esteemed Board Managers.   Under the terms of the agreement, MAKEEN will manufacture HD Hyundai’s advanced HiMSEN dual fuel engines at its state-of-the-art facility in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia. The MAKEEN team's recent trip to HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) facilities in Seoul and Ulsan, South Korea, proved highly productive. Through in-depth discussions on IT, HR, training, and marketing, both teams fostered a valuable exchange of knowledge.
