As burnout burns on in healthcare, the need for innovative solutions is only growing.     That’s why InterSystems is committed to supporting the startups that will create the breakthrough technology healthcare needs to solve tough challenges like burnout. When they succeed, healthcare succeeds.     I got a glimpse of the future at the recent Healthcare AI and Technology Investor Summit hosted by Foley & Lardner LLP and Endeavor Venture Fund & Venture Studio.     Along with the fund’s managing partner and CIO, Dr. D. Martin Alexander Gershon, MD, JD, MPH, and its director of leadership, Jenny M Fernandez, MBA, 费 珍妮, and Cardiologist and ACC’s Chief Innovation leader Ami Bhatt, MD, we led a master class on burnout in the workplace.     My takeaway: Rather than creating technology to replace doctors, we need solutions that empower and augment clinicians. That requires seamlessly integrating AI into existing workflows.     How could this look in practice? I pointed to AI-enabled ambient listening technology, which can automatically transcribe doctor-patient encounters and driving action to the EHR.     The event’s keynote speaker, Peter Durlach, chief strategy officer for Microsoft Health and Life Sciences, knows the benefits well: more time for clinicians to treat patients and better healthcare experiences.     As new and legacy organizations advance AI, the opportunities to improve healthcare will multiply.
