Keboola is a real Eastern European story. Founded in 2014, seed round in 2022, then a $32m series A in 2024, one of the biggest in the European enterprise SaaS. A story of resilience and relentless pursuit of creating customer value. Pavel Dolezal and his team organized hackathons and communities to discover use-cases, while also doing sales on focused verticals. I recently sat down with Underline Ventures as part of their series on founder-led sales strategies. In the early days of Colossyan, I found that sales came rather naturally to me, mostly because I was already working on fundraising and recruitment – two things that already required me to constantly pitch the company. Not to mention, the familiarity founders have with their product can be a huge advantage when it comes to getting your initial sales off the ground. Leveraging that familiarity to grow your sales internally before building out your sales team can significantly maximize your efficiency. It’s also important to remember that as a founder, you’re not just selling the product, but also your vision for the future. Sometimes that vision can make all the difference.
