🌿 Our journey with norwegian grants 🌿 Over the past four years, we've secured €2.29M in funding, enabling us to expand our production of biodegradable and compostable packaging, adopt sustainable practices, and significantly reduce our carbon footprint. CEO Tudor Georgescu shares, "The Norwegian grants allowed us to acquire state-of-the-art equipment and invest in green energy. This collaboration is a huge leap forward in making our packaging production more sustainable. Partnership highlights: Aligned goals: Both Promateris and Norsk Energi are committed to renewable energy and cutting down carbon emissions. Together, we’re making strides toward a greener future for the packaging industry. Expertise on board: EEA and Norway Grants brings top-notch expertise in renewable energy solutions. They’ve been crucial in setting up our 1MWp solar system at the Buftea facility. Financial boost: We’ve secured a 597,000 euros grant from the EEA and Norway Grants. Big impact: This project is a game-changer. In 9 months since installation, we reduced our carbon emissions by 510,086 kg,and aligns perfectly with the EU’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. Effective collaboration: EEA and Norway Grants has been fantastic to work with—super prompt and efficient, ensuring everything runs smoothly with no delays. We are excited to share a big milestone in our journey towards sustainability! Last August, we installed a 1 MWp photovoltaic system on our Buftea factory roof, and the results have been amazing: 🌞 Carbon Emissions Reduced: We’ve cut down over 510 tons of carbon emissions, which is like removing 112 cars from the road for an entire year! 💡 Energy Efficiency: Our solar panels now supply 19% of our energy needs, significantly decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels. 💰 Cost Savings: We've reduced our electricity costs by 20%, proving that sustainability and financial efficiency go hand in hand. This project was made possible by a grant from the EEA and Norway Grants, with installation by SIMTEL and support from Norsk Energi. It’s a major step towards our goal of using 100% green electricity by 2030.
