Welcome to Blood and Sacrilege, a Forged in The Dark TTRPG about vampires and their rise to power.
In a Dark Fantasy setting based on the Early Middle Ages of England (The Dark Ages), you play as a brood of vampires bent on toppling the humans’ reign over Brackenstow. Here you'll find a country ruled by mortals, with vampires lurking in the shadows of society. It wasn’t always this way though; vampires founded Brackenstow and after a hard fought war, lost it to the mortals they once enslaved.
Nearly a century after the vampires were defeated, legal rights to the kingdom are still squabbled over by the country's self-proclaimed leaders while bishops and ministers fight for their own influential positions. The vampire threat looms on the horizon... But the power vacuum left by a leaderless kingdom has taken it's toll on the stability of the land, leading to civil unrest and the more immediate danger of war.
Now, with humans on the brink of societal collapse, the vampires peer out from the dark, and the broods that have laid in wait for so many decades start to execute their long-laid plans.
Version 1.2
Blood and Sacrilege is still being worked on and added to as time goes on. With this version you can find 4 new playbooks, with some edits and fine-tuning on the 4 playbooks that were featured in version 1. You will also find all the brood sheets available, and some editing in the playbook itself, and a new city map by RustyMaps!

Reading through the playbook, the first thing that hits you is just how much thought and care has been put into this. The creator clearly has a passion for this world and has put it onto paper elegantly.
Without wanting to give too much away, the world itself is rich in history, just the right amount to not be overwhelming but to excite you and your players into exploring what it has to offer.
I can't wait to create a lair and get to know Brackenstow.
Immersive, bloody and sanguine. A fresh spin on vampiric RPGing. Particularly enjoyed the character design and classes. A triumph in indie TTRPG development.
A brilliantly devised homage to vampiric literature through the ages. The setting is immersive and great fun to explore, and the abilities are incredible story devices as well as mechanically useful. I couldn't recommend this game any higher.
Fantastic flavour, and nice smooth running game even when we go far, far, far off the rails we thought we'd be on! Beautiful art and maps (no offence to your playtest Paint map George). If you enjoy vampire fiction of any kind, this game is for you!
