Buck Rogers Vs Space 1999
A downloadable project
This is a 10 page pdf supplement for creative types who are looking to create a retro-style crew for a small starship, circa late 1970s to 1980s, based on two popular TV sci-fi shows from that era, Buck Rogers In The 25th Century and Space: 1999. The supplement is geared mostly for space opera, but with a little tweaking it can be adapted to other science fiction sub-genres such as space action (Buck Rogers), cosmic horror (Space: 1999 season 1), or space military (Starship Troopers).
Sections from this supplement include:
Main Characters: A listing of the 5 most prominent character archetypes for both TV shows.
Attributes: The biggest strengths for 8 character types, including Strong Commander, Brilliant Scientist, Beast Person, Zenomorphs and more.
Core Group: Brief suggestions for 3, 4 and 5 person starship crews.
My 5-Person Team: A walk-through on how I combined the best character archetypes from both TV shows to put together a five-person team.
Space Opera: Suggestions for romantic interludes between characters, such as who is sleeping with who, and who wants to sleep with who. This includes the core group of 5, plus 8 more in the supporting cast.
Bases: Roll a d20, or choose a home base or home ship from the list. Selections come from every space sci-fi franchise I could think of!
Beastmen: Roll a d10, or choose a beast your zenomorph can turn into, or a beast-human hybrid like Hawkman from Buck Rogers.
You can use this supplement with many of my other titles, including 24XX - Buck Rogers, 24XX - Space: 1999, Space Sci Fi Plots And Villains, and Science Based Starships And Colonies.
Full disclosure: This project does not contain AI content. It's all personal research done to enhance my writing projects.
