Game status update
Thank you to everyone that played the Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers demo over the past year and bit!
The full game is now available on Steam! So please check it out there if you want to support the game.
For now we are shelving the demo version because as a solo dev it was too difficult to continue to support the demo features and web compatibility during development of the Steam version.

is it playable on steamdeck?
Maybe leave the legacy version on Itch. So prople can still play it, but the full experience is steam only.
And seeing as some countries like Vietnam don't have steam but DO have itch, it means you took the game away from those people and they can no longer play it, which is kind of a jerk move.
Also the fact is, the browser version worked on mobile, shokingly well too. So to throw away that mobile support feels silly.

2 months later, absolute silence. I guess I'll never experience those old clunky graphics and the coming soon around every corner

No it did not infact ga away altho it is no longer playeble in browser it did recently get publiched on steem and now you can by the game instead of playing it in browser altho I do also find it a inconvinience hoped this helped if not good luck finding a better solution
It's a bit of a jerk move to pull the playable version from itch, especially as there are people suing valve over steam right now, but it's not like I can do anything other than raise a note of complaint that I'm now unable to play. It's also worth noting that other games have had demos available for some time while being small or even solo studios! Even if you wished to abandon it, it would have been nice to leave it up as a legacy build. I wonder if the yogscast is legally forcing you to remove the old build via contract, which I find concerningly possible!
Please stop begging this guy for free copies or demos or DRM free versions. He's a one-man dev team and doesn't, and shouldn't, give you beggars a damned thing. Hey needs to make money to eat and pay for housing.
It's on steam. If you don't like it, tough. If you like the game enough, then install steam and buy it.

I don't know what you mean but since i don't buy of Steam I guess it doesn't matter. If the game ever comes to itch I'll buy it.

I like the demo and is willing to buy the full game, but Steam is blocked in Vietnam. Is there any other way to play this?

Was wondering if you guys will do a drm free copy here on itchio, for those who have devices they would rather not use Steam on?
I managed to break the game, the opponent kept getting 20 or 21 with a broken deck and it just kept going for idk how many turns. The buttons are pressed but nothing happens. I guess it had to end at some point lol.

If your SD Card pulls an SD Card, it gets hidden under your "Hand." If you don't know it's there you can't really see it at all! :)
I love this game. The cards have tons of gameplay interactions and many many card references.
For gameplay points, more ways of out-of-combat healing would be nice (maybe a special "rest site" event similar to the campfires from Slay the Spire). Given the RNG-heavy blackjack mechanics can cause one to take high amounts of damage due to bad draws, it'd be nice for builds to have an easier way of healing damage if they don't have healing cards in their deck.
This is very well done! I'll have to play it some more
I wish there were similar games to this, e.g solitaire w/ random cards, hearts w/ random cards, etc.

Went infinite with dealer chip and escardgot! Once you get the card value to 21 (I used a lot of shielding to get there), you can just exploit it every round for a guaranteed blackjack and minimum 21 block gained per stand
the glitched card deck has to be by far the funniest one
i just lost 46 life in the first encounter xd

Hi, just saying that I really love this game and played the older version. The new version overall looks fresh and great except for one thing that maybe you can take into consideration.
The text below the next opponent (on the pick your poison screen) feels too big/too ornate for me to be able to focus/ read, the older one has better readability. Other than that it's spectacular!
It's very interesting, can't wait for the full game.
this is what i expected balatro to be (no shade, balatro is a good game), having all these other cards be playable and have unique effects in a familiar game like blackjack is so cool and fun
