🚨🚨🚨Breaking News: Pharmaceutical Giant Genzyme Genetics , part of French Sanofi Group, implicated in a #landmark discrimination case in #Argentina. The National Institute against Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Racism (#INADI) in Argentina has identified a grave instance of sexual orientation discrimination. This involves the unjust termination of an expat Brazilian migrant father following his request for paternity leave, a clear violation of Law No. 23.592 against discriminatory practices. Challenges of Paternity and Workplace Bias: Despite company's stated policies of equal parental leave, this case highlights significant prejudice faced within the workplace. A Struggle for Justice and Equality: This incident underscores the ongoing challenges and discrimination #LGBTQ families continue to encounter, both in society and professionally, raising critical concerns all individuals and experts on DEI. #Pride365 #HumanRights #Familyrights #culture #policy #Workplace #sanofi #genzyme #Argentina #pharna
📰 Fonte: https://lnkd.in/e9C-EERN

Earlier this month, I contributed an article to O Jornal Económico on the important of LGBTQ employees’ inclusion in more open, more diverse labour market and workplace structures. Sometimes we get caught up in celebrations and promotion of activities like Pride Month and quickly forget that for our LGBTQ colleagues issues of inclusion and pride are part of their everyday life (and work) realities. Their hopes for, and expectations of, an employer’s valuing and including them in an open, welcoming work environment do not stop on 1 July. That is why I wanted to share my recent article on the importance of remembering LGBTQ inclusion in company HR, and overall business, strategy. The reality of our current job markets is that age cohorts for employees are shifting. Younger generations are moving into entry and mid-level roles and they tend to be more open to forward-thinking organisational cultures and how businesses act as community stakeholders. LGBTQ inclusion continues to grow in importance for leadership teams, in talent recruitment, and for employee attraction and retention strategies. I encourage you to have a look at my article below (easily translatable into English with some help from Google) and reflect upon how your business could benefit from making Pride a daily affair, not just for one month in the year. A critical part of your future, competitive employer value proposition (EVP) will definitely need to include policies for gender and ethnic diversity, safe channels for reporting discrimination, or fully open recruitment processes that do not discriminate based on gender identity or sexual orientation. Just wait and see what magic it works for your organisation’s efforts in candidate attraction, employee retention, and brand business representation. Future successful businesses will be built on inclusivity and social justice. #GiGroupHolding #WorkplaceInclusivity #PrideMonth #SocialJustice

I met Parmesh at the perfect time – just when I needed inspiration and direction for my half-written post about how it is important to enable inclusion and “change through structure, not revolution”. I enjoyed listening to him talk about the simple and actionable ways that we can bring about changes through structure, which is his strategy to make spaces more inclusive – one that he very articulately phrased - “Jugaad Resistance” in his book. A phrase you will now hear me use very often henceforth when I push for change through structure here, and everywhere else. The idea that some revolutions happen in boardrooms is one that I strongly believe in and one that makes the most sense to me. How to make spaces inclusive? You start with the one you spend the most time in – your office and your house. And how to get people to care enough to think about diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging – you make policies and make it an important part of their workplaces so they can take the ideas home and everywhere else. More about this in my upcoming posts after I jot down ideas and ideologies from #Queeristan – Parmesh Shahani's memoir-manifesto business book on inclusion in the Indian workplace. Thank you, Parmesh, for being so kind on-stage, off-stage and for giving me a signed copy of your book. As someone who wants to do more in the DEI space, I’m jumping in excitement. #queeristan #inclusion #diversity #DEIatwork

It was an honour to speak at Ooty Lit Fest this past weekend about LGBTQIA inclusion in Indian workplaces include some of the work we are doing at Godrej, and on creating a more LGBTQIA inclusive society at large alongside the powerhouse Apsara. What was wonderful was how many Queeristan readers like Samreen Iboo Sait came up to me after to share their stories (many had travelled from other cities, including an entire bookclub from Mumbai!) and also how many parents, teachers and allies also came up and wanted to know how they could help create a more inclusive world. #diversity #inclusion #books #literature #inclusiveworkplaces

Let’s celebrate Disability Pride Month! 💚 Quoting Alessandra Saldanha S. Vianna post… I invite you to get to know our flag, the "Disability Pride Flag", which symbolizes solidarity, pride, acceptance and the strength of the community. It also carries many representations, in its stripes and colors: Black Background: Represents the grief and anger felt by people with disabilities, deaths, victims of violence or ableist abuse. Diagonal Stripes: cut through the walls and barriers that separate the disabled from society. The five stripes represent various types of disabilities (mental illness, neurodivergence, physical disability, sensory disabilities, and invisible disabilities) and the interconnectedness of these experiences. Colors: Each colored banner highlights a different aspect of the disability community. Red represents physical disabilities; gold for cognitive and intellectual disabilities; white for invisible and undiagnosed disabilities; blue for mental illness; and, green for sensory perception deficiencies.

As cinco listras representam vários tipos de deficiências (doença mental, neurodivergência, deficiência física, deficiências sensoriais e deficiências invisíveis) e a interconectividade dessas experiências. Vocês fazem a diferença e trabalham para impactar pessoas💚 #DisabilityPrideMonth #DisabilityPride #Inclusion #Accessibility #Inclusão #Acessibilidade #PcD #DEI #DisabilityCommunity #EverydayInclusion #WeAreKenvue #KenvuerImpactNetwork #DiverseAbilityAdvancement

We are conducting an industry-wide research project, as part of our ongoing #PrideIsNotAnAd initiative, on how marketing professionals do or do not consider inclusivity in their brand strategies and campaigns with regard to the LGBTQ community. The results of this study will be presented on July 5th at our annual creativity festival ADsterdam during the Brands, Pride & Advertising panel. Is this a topic that applies to you? Then we would like to invite you to participate in the survey. All answers will be processed anonymously and confidentially. (NL) https://lnkd.in/esVaYmEx

A commission in the Brazilian National Congress discussed the criminalization of same-sex marriage on the same day that the legislative body established the Mixed Parliamentary Front for Citizenship and LGBTI Rights. Our Gustavo Ribeiro reflects in Congresso em Foco on how these events show the important need to increase LGBT political representation: bit.ly/3ZEd29I Although 2022 witnessed the largest LGBT caucus elected to government in the history of Brazil, the attacks against LGBT citizens reveal that there is still much to be done to ensure that LGBT Brazilians have the rights and the power to influence decisions that affect their lives. The good news is that the Brazilian electorate increasingly understands the urgent need for representation. A survey we released in June showed that 63% of people interviewed in Brazil agree that a diversity of voices, including LGBT individuals, is an essential aspect of democracy: bit.ly/3OAYZN1

Your acceptance possibly can make a huge impact, creating a world where everyone feels loved, respected, and understood. What does your chosen family mean to you? A chosen circle that gives you purpose, vision, and a motto for your life and existence. Mine has played an integral role in my life, which is why I’m delirious to share this new short from the CSA Team celebrating chosen families and the safe spaces where they form and flourish. A few years back, I had the idea to start something that could change someone’s life. It began on a random street in Gujarat’s capital, where my mother and I saw children without the proper equipment for a formal education. Seeing them grow and change their lives became our purpose. It's not just about supporting children; it's about supporting the lives of those who deserve better. As a community and a responsible part of society, we believe that everyone matters and deserves their own identity and respect. With this same ethos of equality and respect for all in mind, Chhoti Si Asha decided to celebrate the last day of Pride Month with Hetal Masi, a regular supporter who always spends time with our kids, blessing them with happiness and love. Hetal Masi’s life was full of challenges and, at the same time, incredibly inspiring. We take her as an example that to promote change, we first need to support, love, and most importantly, accept people for who they are. As Pride Month ended yesterday, we continue to celebrate love, security, diversity, and inclusivity!
