𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧: Last week, Dr. Aleksey Yaremchenko represented the Lab SSI&EC at the 24th International Conference on Solid State Ionics (Solid State Ionics 2024 Conference) held in London, UK. Dr. Yaremchenko delivered an invited talk on the vanadate- and molybdate-based anode components for biogas-fueled SOFCs. To a large extent, the work is based on the results obtained by Rui G. Pinto within his PhD project. #ssi24, #SolidStateIonics, #fuelcell, #materials, #ceramics

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: A new paper on composite membrane materials for carbon dioxide separation has been published in the journal 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨. The work explores the effect of gadolinium doping level on the electrical transport properties and stability of membranes composed of gadolinia-doped ceria and Li-Na carbonate. The research was implemented by Dr. Atul Jamale, a Junior researcher of the Lab SSI&EC, and Gonçalo Henriques, a student of the lab who recently completed his MSc thesis. 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬 (open access): https://lnkd.in/dngcb34R #materials, #ceramics, #composite, #membrane, #CO2separation

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: A new manuscript was recently published in the Journal of the European Ceramic Society, based on an ongoing collaboration with the research groups from the University of Zaragoza and the University of Castilla-La Mancha. This study explores a multi-doping approach for promoting thermoelectric performance in calcium manganite-based materials and represents a part of the PhD thesis work of Parisa Amirkhizi. The work was also contributed by the LabSSI&EC researchers Dr. Andrei Kovalevsky and Dr. Shahed Vazeh Rasekh. 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬: https://lnkd.in/d4_5pHGb #thermoelectrics, #energy, #sustainability

𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Researchers at the Lab SSI&EC have embarked on a new direction in iron electrowinning for green steelmaking, focusing on the electrolysis process in acidic conditions. We found that mixed-acid electrolytes, which can promote the formation of iron complexes in solution, offer promise for an efficient process. The work was contributed by Dr. Daniela V. R. Lopes , Dr. Andrei Kovalevsky, and Prof. Jorge Frade, the retired head of the lab. The corresponding manuscript was recently published in the Journal of the Electrochemical Society. 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬: https://lnkd.in/dvgRMgvB #steelmaking, #electrowinning, #energy, #sustainability
