Electric Vehicles Management for carbon neutrality in Europe. Funded by HorizonEU (GA No.10105676)🇵🇹🇸🇮🇬🇷🇩🇰🇪🇺
Sobre nós
EV4EU, a Horizon Europe-funded project coordinated by INESC-ID, aims to develop and implement new management strategies for electric vehicle mass deployment. These strategies will impact in the batteries, user needs, power systems, energy markets, and cities´ transformation. They will promote the coordination between electric vehicles and renewables, Greenhouse Gas emission reduction and the decarbonisation of the road transport. Using V2X (vehicle-to-everything) technology that enables the exchange of data and energy between the vehicle and its surroundings, EV4EU will develop tools and applications for the user, propose new types of chargers and develop an open platform for information exchange between systems, network and charging operators. The proposed V2X strategies will be tested in demonstrators installed in four different countries. EV4EU consortium is composed of 16 participant partners ( 6 associated partners) across four European countries: Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Slovenia. EV4EU started in June 2022 and it will end in November 2025.

👏 Congratulations to Simone Striani from DTU - Technical University of Denmark for having a paper published in the World Electric Vehicle Journal (WEVJ MDPI) supported by the #EV4EU project! ✅ Title: “"Experimental Investigation of a Distributed Architecture for EV Chargers Performing Frequency control" co-authored by Kristoffer Pedersen, Jan Engelhardt and Mattia Marinelli, #EV4EU researchers at DTU. 🔎 Read the article at: https://lnkd.in/dB-WD5Md #EV4EU #HorizonEurope #electricvehicles #EV #greentransition #renewableenergy
I am excited to announce that our article "Experimental Investigation of a Distributed Architecture for EV Chargers Performing Frequency control" has been accepted and published in the World Electric Vehicle Journal (WEVJ). I am also very thrilled to acknowledge that the Journal chose the article as cover story for its Volume 15, Issue 8. This work is really close to my heart. It demonstrate the potential of the distributed control architecture we have been working on for so long. In this proof-of-concept, the cluster performs frequency regulation with two connected Renault ZOEs, while prioritizing the charging needs of the most urgent charging session. The results show that the smart charging concept developed at DTU can perform fast and precise frequency control. Big thanks go to the co-authors Kristoffer Pedersen, Jan Engelhardt and Mattia Marinelli. Without their participation none of this could have been possible. 📣 News from the #EV4EU Demonstrator at Campus Bornholm! After the launch of the Demo site in June, #EV4EU partners from DTU - Technical University of Denmark hosted another technical visit to demonstrate the operation of newly developed autonomous chargers 🔌 🚗 The meeting counted on members of Bornholms Energi & Forsyning and Baltic Energy Island who were welcomed by #EV4EU researchers Mattia Marinelli, Kristoffer Pedersen, Maria Hach, and Ulrik Andersen. 💬 According to Mattia Marinelli, EV4EU Demo leader and Head of Section E-mobility and Prosumer Integration at DTU “the team has been working hard on updating the visualization to include information on the chargers in Bornholm and advancing the development of the app’s front end. This visit provides a valuable opportunity to perform the final tests necessary for the correct commissioning of the chargers, including checking phase rotation and instructing the team on how to use the chargers.” More👇 https://lnkd.in/dWfeWPhP

Early in the week, we had the pleasure of hosting colleagues, friends and guests at the EV4EU test site at Campus Bornholm, where we showcased the operation of our newly developed autonomous chargers. Although the royal couple was also on the island that day, they couldn't make it to the test site. Next year, we aim to achieve such awesome results that our demo site will be a must-see destination ;) As it is often the case, a lot of hard work from the project partners was behind the achievements. Special thanks go to Kristoffer Pedersen, Maria Hach, Jesper Hyldig, Ulrik Bo Andersen and Jacob Østergaard for the support on site. ℹ 📝 New paper published under the #EV4EU project at ARES '24: The 19th International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security and published in the ACM Digital Library! ✅ Title: “Open V2X Management Platform Cyber-Resilience and Data Privacy Mechanisms” by Alexios Lekidis and Hugo Morais. 💡Abstract: #V2X technologies have been recently introduced to provide enhanced connectivity between the different smart grid segments as well as #EVs. The EVs draw power to the grid and may be used as an energy flexibility resource for households and buildings. The increased number of interconnections though, is augmenting substantially the cyber-security and data privacy threats that may occur in the V2X ecosystem. In this paper, such threats are categorized into cyber-attack classes which serve as a basis for deriving Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for the V2X ecosystem. 🔎 You can find the Paper available on our website under Resources and 👇 https://lnkd.in/ddiTcMv2
