🌍✨ Over the past few days, I had the privilege of participating in the Advanced Training on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Geological Storage (CCUS) by CoLAB NET4CO2! This training went beyond theory, offering in-depth discussions on decarbonization strategies, CO2 capture, geological storage, and utilization pathways. 🌍 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗢𝟮 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 & 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 As a full member of the CO2 Value Europe, CoLAB NET4CO2 recently participated in the 8th CO2 Value Days & General Assembly in Grenoble, to discuss the role of CCU in the future Carbon Circular Economy. We had the opportunity to attend different meetings, discussion groups and presentations where impactful projects in Europe were discussed, focusing on technology maturity and deployment, financing and certification of the CCU value chain. The 8th CO₂ Value Days provided a platform for building connections, fostering collaboration, and exchanging knowledge, bringing together key players in the CCU field. Worth mentioning, that Portugal was also represented in CO2 ValueEurope by colleagues from FCT-Univ. Nova (Ana Antunes and Ana Machado) with which we have an ongoing cooperation.

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming several members of CoLAB NET4CO2 to our headquarters in Portugal. Net4Co2 is a collaborative R&D laboratory based in Portugal that is developing innovative decarbonization solutions to help achieve climate neutrality by 2050. During the visit, both companies had the opportunity to present their solutions and ongoing projects. Luis CASTANHEIRA, Miguel Lourenço and Carina Sobreira from the Fusion Fuel team showcased our expertise in green hydrogen production and engineering, while Net4Co2 introduced their cutting-edge carbon capture and utilization technologies. A highlight of our time together was a tour of the electrochemical lab, where the Net4Co2 team had a chance to see our miniaturized and modular #HEVO technology in action. It’s exciting to see how these innovations can power the future of clean energy. The visit concluded with a shared confidence that, together, we can advance green hydrogen and carbon capture as viable and necessary solutions to our global energy challenges. 📣 CoLAB NET4CO2 is seeking a highly qualified Senior Engineer/Researcher to join our Business Development team. This team maintains an updated database of technologies and processes, that help industries reach carbon neutrality, to develop different business cases and perform techno-economic and environmental assessments. The group has an integrated approach to carbon capture, transport, utilization, and geo-storage, and follows the latest standards for carbon footprint and sustainability reporting. 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: •Conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for various industries and R&D projects and provide actionable insights to reduce environmental impacts. •Stay updated on the latest policies and regulations at national and international levels, related to net-zero transition, CCUS technologies, and related fields. •Provide technical expertise in the integration of sustainability strategies and environmental best practices into existing operations. •Prepare sustainability reports, policy briefs, presentations and other deliverables aligned with the latest environmental regulations and frameworks. •Coordination of integrated projects involving multiple disciplines and technical areas. •Identify potential partnerships and collaborate with external partners, research institutions and industry experts. •Identify and prepare applications for competitive funding. 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀: •PhD in Environmental Engineering. •More than 3 years of experience in LCA, using SimaPro. •Experience in environmental policy tracking and understanding of global sustainability regulations •Strong understanding of environmental impact categories such as global warming potential, resource depletion, and human health impacts. •Experience with processes related to carbon neutrality, circular economy, energy transition and/or industrial symbiosis. •Ability to work in both short-term and long-term projects. •Proven experience in identifying and preparing applications for competitive funding. •Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems. •Proven track record in R&D project management. •Good communication skills (English). •Valid working VISA to work in Portugal. Net4CO2 was selected by Lesaffre to integrate the “The future of CCU for food” program Net4CO2 is thrilled to announce its selection as a member of “The future of CCU for food” program, an innovative initiative led by Lesaffre in collaboration with SoScience. This exciting program aims to create, develop, and implement cutting-edge sustainable solutions that leverage carbon capture and utilization to produce fermentation feedstock or food products while ensuring theirs societal and environmental benefits. In September 2024, Net4CO2 will be one of the 50 members participating in the Co-Creation Day in Lille, where experts from research, industry, scientific start-ups, and civil society will gather to develop collaborative project proposals with a strong focus on social and environmental impact.
