With eco-design, this principle can be taken into account when designing products and thus prevent and reduce the impact they produce. #Telecommunications has become a core element of a community's economic and social development. The constant increase in the use of data and the implementation of current and future technologies, in an environment of fast innovation, requires large and necessary investment. "#Cellnex's role has been crucial,” says Marco Patuano, CEO of Cellnex, in the Annual Report interview. “Now, in the moment of the sector’s consolidation, we can also be crucial.” Anne Bouverot, Cellnex Chair adds: “There is an additional reason: sustainability. It makes no sense to have duplicate networks to deliver services that can be delivered on less networks. And this is where Cellnex's role as a neutral, independent player, supporting the development of these services, is key and will continue to be key in the future”. The Managing Director of Cellnex Portugal, João Osório Mora, took part in APDC's 33rd Digital Business Congress yesterday in a panel on "The role of Fibercos & Towercos in Digital Transformation". João Mora spoke about Cellnex's transformation process over the last year, highlighting the focus on organic growth with Cellnex's customers, the end of the cycle of acquisitions that over the last 8 years have made Cellnex the largest player in the sector in Europe, and the start of a new cycle of consolidation of operations as well as the construction of new infrastructures in the country and the utilisation and updating of existing ones. #5G was one of the topics covered and João emphasised Cellnex's ongoing efforts to help operators increase network coverage across the country, namely by integrating 5G into the company's infrastructures. As for #GIA, he mentioned that the company is looking forward to the adoption of the regulation in Portugal, particularly with regard to measures that facilitate the implementation of new infrastructures. #AI was also on the table and here João emphasised that companies must be prepared to deal with this phenomenon and invest in the know-how of this tool. He also mentioned some pilot projects that Cellnex has developed with AI support, in terms of operations and contract management. João Mora falou sobre o processo de transformação da Cellnex no último ano, destacando e a aposta no crescimento orgânico junto dos clientes da Cellnex, o final do ciclo de aquisições que nos últimos 8 anos tornaram a Cellnex o maior player do sector na Europa, e o inicio de um novo ciclo de consolidação das operações bem como a construção de novas infra-estruturas no país e a utilização e atualização das existentes. O #5G foi um dos temas abordados e João destacou os esforços contínuos da Cellnex para ajudar os operadores a aumentarem a cobertura da rede em todo o país, nomeadamente através da integração do 5G nas infra-estruturas da empresa. Quanto ao #GIA, referiu o facto de a empresa estar expetante quanto à adoção do regulamento em Portugal, em particular no que respeita a medidas que facilitem a implementação de novas infra-estruturas. A #AI também esteve em cima da mesa e aqui João sublinhou que as empresas devem estar preparadas para lidar com este fenómeno e investir no know-how desta ferramenta.
