🚨 Today, we address Hungary's recent proposal to ban cultivated meat, following Italy's lead last year. Such actions raise serious concerns about the future of sustainable food production in Europe. Despite no cellular agriculture products currently on the European market, there is strong scientific evidence supporting their safety, taste, and nutritional value. These bans lack a solid foundation. Innovations like cultivated meat aren't just alternatives; they are crucial for meeting the rising global food demand, as traditional supply chains already face immense pressure. The European Commission has rightly criticized these bans as "unjustified" and potentially damaging to the single market. As we strive for a more sustainable food system, embracing cellular agriculture is vital, not obstructing its progress. At Cell4Food, we are committed to advancing cellular seafood products, creating ethical and sustainable options to alleviate pressure on overfished marine ecosystems while prioritizing food safety and environmental responsibility. As the regulatory landscape evolves, it's essential for policymakers and consumers to understand the transformative benefits of these innovations for our collective future. Join us in advocating for a forward-thinking food system that meets tomorrow’s needs while respecting our planet’s resources. 🔗 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/drbrjKEu #Cell4Food #CellularAgriculture #FutureOfFood #Sustainability

We’re happy to share that Cell4Food was recently featured on SIC Notícias, recognizing our pioneering work in cellular agriculture! As the world’s first company developing technology for cellular agriculture octopus products 🐙, we’re leading sustainable seafood innovation. While octopus remains our focus, we’re also researching other species to expand the possibilities of cultured seafood. Our work spans across Portugal, utilizing the country’s best resources and expertise: 🔹 In the 𝐀𝐜̧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬, our lab grants us access to octopus species for studying and developing unique cell lines. The island's rich marine biodiversity provides unparalleled opportunities for our research. 🔹 At IB-S in 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚, our team is refining the culture media to optimize cell growth—crucial for high-quality, cultivated seafood. 🔹 In 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐛𝐨𝐧, our facility at Taguspark is preparing to scale up production, while our headquarters in 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐨𝐬, Porto, drives operations forward. At Cell4Food, we’re not just innovating food; we’re redefining the future of sustainable seafood. Join us on this journey as we revolutionize the way we think about and produce seafood! 🌍 You can access the full news here: https://lnkd.in/dVa2tShv 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑙𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑃𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑢𝑔𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑒, 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑑𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑏𝑦 𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑒𝑒 𝑑𝑜𝑡𝑠 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑜𝑝 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 "𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑠𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒". #Cell4Food #CellularAgriculture #FutureOfFood #Sustainability

As part of our ongoing mission to drive innovation in sustainable seafood solutions, Cell4Food team had the privilege of visiting the Marine Laboratory of Guia in Cascais, Lisbon. We had a fantastic meeting and a workshop with Rui Rosa and his remarkable research team, who are at the forefront of studying how climate change is reshaping our oceans—specifically through warming, acidification, and oxygen depletion. 🐙 A key highlight was their groundbreaking research on octopuses. These extraordinary creatures are not only fascinating due to their complex biology and intelligence, but they also act as vital indicators of ocean health. The team’s work delves into how octopuses are responding to climate stressors like warming seas and acidification, providing critical insights into their adaptability and survival in rapidly changing environments. One of the most exciting aspects of their research is the exploration of global biodiversity and biogeography of coastal octopus species. By examining how different species are responding to environmental changes, the team can designing strategies to enhance their conservation and sustainability. 🤝 As we wrapped up our visit, we laid the foundation for a long-term partnership, and we made a promise to return in 18 months to witness the progress of their current projects and see the new installations at their lab that is located in the historic Fort of Nossa Senhora da Guia, built in the 17th century! 🌏 This visit reaffirmed our commitment to supporting cutting-edge marine research and sustainable practices that help protect our oceans. We look forward to continuing this exciting partnership and sharing more updates on our collaboration and our collective progress in marine science and sustainable food solutions! #Cell4Food #CellularAgriculture #FutureOfFood #Sustainability

Happy World Octopus Day! 🐙 Today, we celebrate the incredible octopus, a symbol of intelligence and adaptability in the world of marine invertebrates. Did you know octopuses have three hearts to support their active lifestyles? With eight independent arms, they explore their surroundings with remarkable agility and problem-solving skills! Beyond their fascinating biology, octopuses also possess impressive cognitive abilities. They have short- and long-term memory, learn from experience, and some studies suggest they can recognize individual humans and show preferences! At Cell4Food, we admire the octopus not just for its intelligence, but as a reminder of the delicate balance in marine ecosystems. Inspired by nature, we are committed to innovating in cellular agriculture—specifically developing cultivated seafood solutions like octopus—to provide sustainable, ethical alternatives to traditional fishing. By growing octopus cells in the lab, we aim to protect these incredible creatures and their habitats while helping to meet global food demand. 🌍 As we honor these extraordinary beings, let's reflect on our role in preserving marine life and ecosystems. By embracing sustainable food practices, we can help ensure that future generations continue to enjoy the beauty of our oceans, and savor the incredible flavors of the sea, without harming these remarkable creatures. 💙 📸 Note: In the picture is one of the friendly octopuses from Rui Rosa’s Lab at Laboratório Marítimo da Guia. #WorldOctopusDay #Cell4Food #SustainableFood #CellularAgriculture
