BIOFABICS - 3D Biotissue Analogues

In the past month, we've had the pleasure of hosting another group of researchers at BIOFABICS - 3D Biotissue Analogues, this time from the Institute of Experimental Medicine - Czech Academy of Sciences, in the scope of project IP-Osteo. Teaching other people how to #3DDesign and #3DPrint is one of the activities that we most enjoy doing. 🤓 Project IP-Osteo is funded by the European Union's HORIZON 2020 MSCA-RISE Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Research Programme under grant agreement no. 824007.

📢 Last week, the project Nano-SHIELD consortium met in Barcelona (Spain). 📢 This was a great opportunity to discuss all the promising results achieved so far as well as make plans for the work ahead. We are very excited about the advanced technologies being developed within Nano-SHIELD. Last week, our Doctoral Candidate Ioanna K. presented her work at the MXW Summit 2024, in Zurich (Switzerland). Her work focuses on studying Alzheimer's Disease employing technology developed at BIOFABICS - 3D Biotissue Analogues. This work is being developed in the context of project TClock 4AD, funded by the European Union under grant agreement 101072895.

New Horizon Project "Tolerate" We are thrilled to announce the commencement of a groundbreaking European research initiative under the Horizon – Europe framework. Through these samples, we aim to retrieve information on how biodiversity and the functionality of the rhizosphere responded to extreme climate changes. This collection serves as a "treasure trove" of ancient post-genomic DNA, representing a timeline of adaptations in the rhizosphere to climate change. The program's objective is to:  - Produce engineered root colonization bacteria (enhancing plant climate resilience), and · Reconstruct enzymes adapted for bio-production to develop innovative bio-medical products, such as three-dimensional printed tissue and organ systems on chips. Project ESCULAPE had its first consortium meeting last week in #Porto (Portugal), hosted by BIOFABICS - 3D Biotissue Analogues. 😎 For the coming 4 years, 11 partners from 10 countries will be jointly developing electro-conductive polymeric 3D scaffolds as novel strategies for biomedical applications. A very special mention to our collaborators from Ukraine who will be an important part of this project.
