Definition
An expression is a well-formed word of mathematical symbols which together can be considered as a single object.
Algebraic Expression
An algebraic expression is a formula obtained by combining symbols together with the arithmetic operations $ $, $-$, $\times$, $\div$, and possibly powers and roots.
