Definition
An absolute number is a number in an expression which has a single value.
It is either expressed using actual figures, in an agreed number system, or by a symbol which is understood to represent that specific number.
Examples
Examples of absolute numbers include:
- $2$, $\sqrt 5$, $1.976$, $\dfrac 2 3$, $\pi$ (pi), $e$ (Euler's number)
