About this app

Signal is a messaging app with privacy at its core. It is free and easy to use, with strong end-to-end encryption that keeps your communication completely private.

• Send texts, voice messages, photos, videos, GIFs, and files for free. Signal uses your phone’s data connection, so you avoid SMS and MMS fees.

• Call your friends with crystal-clear encrypted voice and video calls. Group calls supported for up to 40 people.

• Stay connected with group chats up to 1,000 people. Control who can post and manage group members with admin permission settings.

• Share image, text, and video Stories that disappear after 24 hours. Privacy settings keep you in charge of exactly who can see each Story.

• Signal is built for your privacy. We know nothing about you or who you’re talking to. Our open source Signal Protocol means that we can’t read your messages or listen to your calls. Neither can anyone else. No back doors, no data collection, no compromises.

• Signal is independent and not for profit; a different kind of tech from a different kind of organization. As a 501c3 nonprofit we are supported by your donations, not by advertisers or investors.

The only problem with Signal is that more people don't use it. It's objectively the best piece of software that is freely available for use to communicate with others on these little pocket computers that we've all decided are an essential part of our culture. But almost everyone chooses the worst choice possible. And those choices are often incompatible with Signal. If you are reading this review and don't use Signal, please use it. Your most rational friends will appreciate it.

Incredible app! It has a high sending limit to send very large file, very secure and easy to use. Would like to see the SMS support re-added maybe with an obvious warning that SMS messages will be unencrypted for those who like having an all-in-one app. I would also love to see an option like Session where I don't have to rely on google play services, even if just a little slower in notifying.

Hey, Signal, why don't I get messages directly to my phone as soon as someone sends them, but instead it takes 10-15-20 minutes for the icon to appear that I have a possible message? It happens every time the phone is "asleep". Once the screen is on and in use, everything is fine. But the screen is not on and used 24/7. So what's going on here? I have the latest update on everything, Zenfone 10 - 16GB/512GB box standard and all other apps work without any problems. ???
