Women play a significant, if not crucial, role in the transformation of the food system – that's how we can sum up the #WeLeadFood workshops for women, organised in Poland by our strategic Partner - Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of PAS. Last month female entrepreneurs, founders of start-ups, scientists, experts in the agri-food industry met in Warsaw to share experiences, encourage each other to take action and open up for new opportunities for development. Key highlights included inspiring talks from women leaders, hands-on training sessions, and valuable networking opportunities. As participant Monika Stanny said, "Initiatives like WE Lead Food help overcome barriers and build a collaborative network of women in agri-food." The aim of our workshops is to build an international community of supportive female leaders who work for a healthy, safe and sustainable food system. We give them space to inspire each other and share knowledge, but also to reflect on their current and future professional goals - Iwona Kieda, coordinator of WE Lead Food programme in Poland Join us this autumn for the 8-week online training! EIT Food is always present where discussions about the future of agrifood and the empowerment of women take place. Our colleague, Małgorzata Druciarek, proudly represented us at the Ambassade de France en Pologne in Warsaw during the #conference "Women in Agro - Entrepreneurs, Leaders of Innovation." She contributed to a panel focused on actionable strategies, programmes, and initiatives aimed at supporting women in the sector 🌾 and highlighted insights from #EIT Food's involvement in the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) Programme, emphasising the profound benefits of international cooperation and openness to diverse experiences for sectoral growth. 🌍💼 The EWA Programme is dedicated to providing training, mentoring, and networking opportunities to women in #agrifood, fostering innovation and leadership.
