📌 “Democracy is a struggle, all the democratic benefits that we have through history from the French Revolution, or the English Revolution, or other revolutions have been won in the streets" - says Ivan Vejvoda, a speaker at Impact Bucharest. Mr. Vejvoda is a diplomat, political scientist and one of the key figures of Yugoslavia’s democratic opposition in the 1990s! He is an expert on topics related to democratic transition, totalitarianism and post-war reconstruction in the Balkans. Mr. Vejvoda is currently Head of the Europe's Futures Program at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM - Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen) in Vienna. Previously, he served, among others, as Vice President for Programs at the German Marshall Foundation (GMF), as well as Foreign Policy and European Integration Advisor to the Serbian government.
