We are delighted to announce that we have signed an agreement to sell 100% of the shares in DOT2DOT SA, the largest independent premium packaging producer in Central Europe, to Van Genechten Packaging, a leading European folding carton solutions provider, headquartered in Belgium and with 12 production plants across Europe.   Headquartered in Gdańsk, Poland, and employing 350 people, Dot2Dot manufactures and sells complex and innovative packaging products to customers throughout Europe. The company covers all areas of the economy, with a particular strength in key sectors including beauty, personal care and confectionary. Its customers include many of the world’s largest corporations and brands.    During the course of its investment, Abris has transformed Dot2Dot from a group of family-owned businesses with different cultures and technology into a modern, multi-site production company. Abris has focused on improving corporate governance, including bringing in a new CEO, CSO, CPSO and CFO, as well as more than 30 other senior positions. The company has also performed exceptionally well on ESG. In 2023, Dot2Dot generated 94% of its revenue from reusable, recyclable or compostable products, reducing carbon emission per million euros of revenue by more than 50% versus 2022.   Edgar Kolesnik, Partner at Abris Capital Partners, commented: "Alongside the enormously dedicated and determined management and the broader senior team, we successfully completed the transformation of Dot2Dot from three founder-led businesses into an integrated company with well-diversified sales, two modern production plants, a strong culture and unified technology standards. 🏆 Abris Capital Partners ESG Awards 2024 🏆 Winners in focus: Governance Award 🌳🌍 Congratulations to MATEX LAB S.P.A.!! 🥇 MatexLab, an aesthetic medicine business active in more than 70 countries worldwide, won the Governance Award for its “Governance Power-Up" project. This program was launched with the aim of shifting the business’s thinking from a legal entity-based silo approach to a "One Group" approach. It focused on driving efficiencies, standardizing and automating processes, conducting training and upgrading compliance procedures, saw strong results during the year. The results speak for themselves. In 2023, the business grew sales by 25% while significantly reducing costs. Around €1 million was saved by switching to group-wide, end-to-end business processes including a new ERP system and financial center. And a training plan for all employees helped to reduce compliance / mobbing incidents to zero. There were a few lightning strikes, both inside and out! ⚡️The event kicked off with an electrifying introduction, unraveling the essence of #ESG and sharing insights from great minds in the field. Aleksandra Małolepsza and Aleksandra Czarnecka, who infused the session with humor, wit, and a few thought-provoking questions. The answers came in the form of a striking keynote speech by Roksana Kałużna-Bałazy, who captivated us with her discourse on "Bridging the Gap to a Sustainable Future: Understanding the Role of Transition Finance in Achieving Environmental Goals." ROPEA REPORT 2024 Job creation outlook: Net jobs created by PE-backed companies during 2019-2022 are the equivalent of the entire population of Târgu Neamț (18,393 new jobs created)🏆 The analysis of the impact of the private equity and venture capital in the Romanian economy (job creation, additional turnover and EBITDA/ operational profit generated) is based on publicly available financial and non-financial data for the period 2018-2022 of 156 portfolio companies headquartered in Romania, out of which 72% are owned by ROPEA members. Net job creation in the overall economy reached 2.3% in 2022 (115,205 more employees in 2022 versus 2021), while for the PE-backed companies the increase was of 7.1% during the same period (4,027 more employees in 2022 versus 2021), highlighting the performance of such partnerships, which managed to grow even during volatile market conditions. The number of employees in ROPEA member private equity-backed companies doubled - from 21,476 in 2018 to 42,371 in 2022. This is further proof that private equity investments stimulate economic growth and accelerate job creation in the economy! 🏆 Abris Capital Partners ESG Awards 2024 🏆 Winners in focus: Environmental Award 🌳🌍 Congratulations to Global Technical Systems!! 🥇 GTS, one of the largest technical installation companies in Romania, took home the award for adding a new strategic focus on photovoltaic installations. During 2023, new rooftop PV systems were installed at some of Romania’s largest shopping malls, as well as at car parking facilities, office buildings and airports. Installed capacity during the year has already reduced CO2 emissions by more than 10,000 tonnes, and over the course of the next 20 years these facilities alone will reduce emissions by 200,000 tonnes.
