PostEx, a startup that began in a shabby apartment in Lahore's Barkat Market, has rapidly risen to the top of the logistics business through a strategic acquisition of CallCourier back in 2022. What’s next for Pakistan’s top logistics startup? Founded in 2020, PostEx has outpaced established eCommerce delivery companies like TCS and Leopards Courier. Their rise to the top was fueled by a daring acquisition and a unique blend of logistics and fintech services. In 2022, PostEx made a bold move by acquiring CallCourier, expanding its network and operational efficiency. This acquisition was crucial for scaling quickly and ensuring full delivery coverage. The acquisition paid off. PostEx’s post-merger growth was fourfold, achieving over 4 million deliveries per month by 2023 and surpassing traditional giants like TCS in market share. By April 2023, PostEx had a 23.2% market share with 1.45 million shipments per month, outperforming TCS and Leopards. The acquisition of CallCourier was a game-changer. The eCommerce logistics sector in Pakistan is growing. Despite a population of over 220 million, eCommerce accounts for only 1-2% of total retail transactions, leaving immense potential for growth. Major players like TCS and Leopards are adapting to eCommerce needs, while startups like PostEx are leveraging tech for better accuracy and customer experience. The competition is fierce. PostEx isn't just about deliveries; it has redefined logistics with innovative financial services. Offering invoice factoring for SMEs, it provides liquidity quickly, supporting the financial health of its clients.  PostEx's dual approach of logistics and fintech enhances its service portfolio, enabling SMEs to manage cash flow effectively and scale efficiently. This strategy has positioned PostEx as a key player in both industries.   Is this growth sustainable? PostEx has turned profitable, with $21 million in annualized recurring revenue from logistics and fintech. Founder Omer Khan assures that their net profitability provides unlimited runway.  What's next for PostEx? With new funding from existing investors, PostEx is expanding to the Middle East, setting up operations in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Tough markets, but PostEx is ready for the challenge.  "We have teams in Pakistan that have executed well. We are on track in Pakistan, hence the initiative to go outside.
