🌍✨ We are humbled to announce one of the most significant breakthroughs in GHG emissions management and reduction in Pakistan, in recent history. On June 7th, 2024, Soorty Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.’s comprehensive Near Term and Net Zero Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) ♻️. This validation covers our full verticality including our Spinning, Fabric and Garments divisions and includes our FLAg reporting for the Soorty Organic Cotton Initiative (SOCI). It underscores our commitment to combating climate change and achieving sustainability 🌱. This makes us the first textile organization in Pakistan to have achieved complete validation across the full scope of our relevant reduction targets throughout our organizational boundary. Our Commitments: Soorty Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd. commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050. Soorty Enterprises commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 54.6% by 2033 from a 2021 base year. Soorty Enterprises also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel and employee commuting 54.6% within the same timeframe. Soorty Enterprises commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2021 base year. Soorty Enterprises also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within the same timeframe. These commitments are testament to our unwavering dedication to sustainability, innovation, and community impact.
