Exciting Milestone for PARCO and Descon Engineering Ltd! We are thrilled to share that the Turnaround (TA-05) contract for the Mid-Country Refinery (MCR) has been officially awarded to Descon Engineering Ltd., a leader in managing Turnaround Projects with an outstanding track record. The Turnaround is scheduled for October 2024, and this marks a significant milestone for both the organizations. The formal signing took place on July 24, 2024, at PARCO by Mr. Irteza Ali Qureshi, MD PARCO, and Mr. Taimur Saeed, CEO of Descon Engineering Ltd. Senior management from PARCO, Ms. Syeda Ameer Batool - Company Secretary , Mr. Umair Mir - DMD Technical & Operations, Ms. Rauha Hameed - Head of Supply Chain and General Managers - PARCO, Sharon Dias, Aly Zaki Ansari, Faheem Motiwala and Abdul Qadir along with Descon's Mr. Muhammad Anwar ul Haq - President Industrial Services Division and Mr. Shahzad Malik- Head of Operations graced this landmark ceremony with other senior officials and team members from both sides.   MD PARCO expressed his trust in the competency of Descon Engineering Ltd. and shared his expectation with them to deliver an exceptional performance surpassing previous MCR Turn Arounds. We are thrilled to share two recent initiatives led by PARCO, aimed at enhancing community well-being through healthcare and education. In Khanpur, Mr. Nadeem Ajwad Chishti, Head Corporate Affairs and CSR, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Shikarpur, inaugurated a state-of-the-art X-Ray machine at the Rural Health Center (RHC). This advanced equipment, the only one of its kind in the vicinity, serves over 20 patients daily and significantly benefits the community. During their visit, they also evaluated the dental unit, which assists over 50 patients daily, a facility previously provided by PARCO as part of our CSR initiatives. In Larkano, Mr. Nadeem Ajwad Chishti, Head Corporate Affairs and CSR, alongside Dr. Sharjeel Noor, Deputy Commissioner of Larkano, visited the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Memorial Library to assess the impact of PARCO’s support. Earlier this year, PARCO had facilitated the library with furniture and several accessories. The students expressed their profound gratitude for PARCO’s generous contributions. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust (SKMT) honoured PARCO among other organizations that supported the life-saving mission of the Trust for the year 2022. The trust has been providing state-of-the-art cancer care facilities to needy cancer patients for the past three decades.   Dr. Faisal Sultan, CEO SKMT presented the award to Ms. Sharon Dias, General Manager, Group Corporate Affairs, PARCO at an event held in Karachi. Pakistan International Disputes Weekend (PIDW) is an annual legal convention focused on dispute resolution practices being hosted by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in collaboration with the Sindh High Court in Karachi. This year’s edition was held on 11th and 12th May 2024 and was attended by numerous distinguished local and international guests and speakers from the United Kingdom, China, and Turkey along with Honorable Judges from various High Courts of the Country and former Honorable Judges of Supreme Court of Pakistan.   During this event PARCO was conferred the “Excellence Award for Legal Compliance” by the Honorable Chief Justice of Sindh High Court, Mr. Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, which was received by the Group Company Secretary and General Manager Legal, PARCO, Ms. Syeda Ameer Batool.
