This is how you modify nouns using verbs and adjectives. An English example of such a sentence would be:

This is a book that Mildred Taylor wrote.

The phrase “that Mildred Taylor wrote” modifies the noun book. Without the phrase, you are only left with the sentence “This is a book.” Here is how to do the same thing in Japanese.

Modifying Nouns Using Adjectives

The most basic way is Adjective Noun.

Kanji: 面白い人
Kana: おもしろいひと
Romaji: Omoshiroi hito
English: An interesting person/A person who is interesting

Kanji: 元気な子供
Kana: げんきなこども
Romaji: Genki-na kodomo
English: An energetic child/A child who is energetic

But you can also add more information to these types of sentences as well.
