I've created one task https://codein.withgoogle.com/dashboard/tasks/5673120520208384/
I've created this task on GCI's site.
Oct 26 2017
I think two more videos could be added to Phabricator's help page
I'm in for mentoring this task for GCI.
I'm in for mentoring this task.
I'm in for mentoring this task again. :)
Oct 21 2017
Should we add this task to Google Code-in again? I'm in for mentoring it.
Jan 12 2017
Thanks @Snehala26 ! :)
Jan 11 2017
I just noticed https://codein.withgoogle.com/dashboard/tasks/5729603540746240/ isn't published yet. :/

Thats great. Thanks @srishakatux :)
Dec 9 2016
@srishakatux this is perfect! Thank you :)
Hey @srishakatux! :) I created a GCI task for this couple of days ago but its not published or ready yet., Sorry, I forgot to link it here :/
https://codein.withgoogle.com/dashboard/tasks/5618390865543168/
One question: do we assign one student to do one video or two videos like in T1119 ?
Dec 7 2016
That is wonderful! Thank you so much @bcampbell :)
Nov 29 2016
Ahh, good questions! :)
I think we can call the task "Cut CREDIT videos into each of its presentations and upload the presentation, with description, to Commons"
Right right! I'll create a task for this in GCI. All I need to know now is how to get it published. :)
:)

I thought there was no legal way to download youtube videos.
But:
considering that we Wikimedia are the ones authoring the videos and proposing the tasks, I think it is fair.
Solves the problem.
Here are links to the tasks on GCI's site:
Thanks for all the help @Charlie_WMDE , I think the option to make yourself a mentor popped up after the contest started :)
Perfect. I'll create 6 separate tasks for the 6 videos (on GCI), I'm afraid two students might end up working on the same video.
@Charlie_WMDE thank you! I have applied for membership on the group :)
I can see the create task option but I don't even have access to other tasks. I don't think I can add myselfbas mentor
Can you add me as mentor on the task at the GCI site? :)
@Charlie_WMDE thank you :)
Some videos have the old UI which still help because there hasn't been much difference.
Nov 27 2016
The only tiny bit problem with this is that only 3 of the Credit videos are at commons and I don't students can fetch the video from youtube and edit it when they don't have access to the youtube channel. :/
May I co-mentor this task?
Done :)
Okay :)
Ah, right. I'll put the page with links in the description.
Yeah, they can add the description in the commons, I'll put it to youtube :)
@Aklapper Take my place for the time being. Go through the video and extract the relevant links. Add a one-line bio of the speaker. :)
The summary is usually already there.
This all goes into the description of the video in commons
May I mentor this task for Google Code-in?
Nov 26 2016
May I mentor this task?
May I mentor this task as the contest proceeds?
Can I mentor this task this year for Google Code-in?
I wonder if I could put this as a Google Code-In task.
Like, 1 task would include 1 video and so this could be a recurring task.

@Aklapper that worked! thanks :)
Aug 15 2016
There is tiiiiny bit problem at youtube. When I add link of a speaker's profile, there is usually a ')' at its end, and youtube's code refuses to include that in the URL, so we end up with an invalid page :/
See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWiDimlK4bE
What to do?
Aug 11 2016
I think the three following presentations were technical and fitted in their corresponding wiki pages:
Aug 9 2016
Good idea. I'll get the two at commons done.
But I think we should create a seperate task for CREDITs .
Let this one be for tech talks only.
Agreed. The latest presentation are more likely to gain better viewership.
I went through more than half of the files at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikimania_2016_presentations and all of them are in their corresponding wiki pages at the wikimania 2016 wiki.
Where else should these files be featured?

So, finally my exams are over.
I just got done with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Phabricator_for_Wikimedia_projects.webm
Apr 15 2016
@Qgil Thank you so much! :)
Apr 14 2016
I have my exams starting next week, I'm just too busy.
I was wondering if I can resume working on this task from June 10 (that's when my exams end)
Is that OK?
Apr 12 2016
Yes, I'm totally ok with it.
I'll now start with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yr5z9Ix2f8
Apr 10 2016
That list is very helpful, thanks!
Apr 7 2016
Thank you! :)
I'll see to adding the speaker's description.
Apr 6 2016
OK!
I'll start with the description at commons.
The youtube video is linked at commons but not the other way round.
I think it's a good idea to have the youtube link at the source in commons as it is in this video.
Pleasure is all mine!
in an ideal world these videos should be in https://commons.wikimedia.org, and that information would be very interesting to have in the their description pages. You have the choice of detailing this information both in YouTube (since it might attract more viewers) and Commons (the canonical location of these videos), or you can have it only in Commons, and link to there from the YouTube page. Up to you, whatever you think is more feasible.
Apr 5 2016
Thanks for assigning this to me, I was looking for such tasks.
The plan looks good to me.
Apr 1 2016
Sorry from me too :( I had pre-board exams.
Yeah, I'm totally interested in organizing all the stuff.
We should fix a time (in GMT or UTC) where we could discuss the plan.
Feb 5 2016
@Jay8g aahhh, right, I was looking it from the actual table (displayed one), not the code.
Feb 4 2016
Well, I have to say I give up on the goal template, I am unable to understand it.
Feb 2 2016
@Qgil So, where and how do I get started?
@Mooeypoo if the above 5 templates are perfect, shall we move onto to some more?
Jan 29 2016
@Mooeypoo
yeah, I was thinking the same, the parameters aren't supposed to be human-readable.
Thanks for all the pointers!
I tried to fix as many as I could
Jan 27 2016
Did I get the templatedatas right? Are they complete now?
@Qgil I think that is a great idea! I've always wanted to work with WMF, it's just that I didn't know where to start when I didn't have GCI tasks.
I would love to keep working here. :)
Jan 23 2016
I added template data to the following pages:
Dec 28 2015
I would still like to keep working on this! :)
Dec 27 2015
@Aklapper :) Okay, but don't I have to do more, like link in the pages/files?
Dec 25 2015
I propose, that maybe we could https://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Press_room/WMF_Presentations, thats only what I could think. And if its outdated, what does one do to update it?
Dec 23 2015
wikipedia, wikisource and wiktionary can be considered under wikimedia
aahh, I see.
Dec 22 2015
should I go ahead and do this?
yay! :)
ohh yes, I overlooked that, I uploaded it to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Creating_and_renaming_projects
I will upload to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Phabricator/Help shortly.
