Define the design system's approach to responsiveness
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Background/Goal

We need to define the system's approach to responsiveness: will we set and apply our own responsive conventions? Will we rely on Minerva Neue to totally override Codex components to adjust them to the mobile web view?

The conclusion will influence design decisions related to:

  • Sizing and spacing: will Codex components increase their size in smaller viewports? Which properties or display types may change influence the change in sizing (paddings line-heights, min-heights, flexbox)?
  • Typographic styles: an increase of Codex's base font size from 14px to 16px on mobile is assumed, but the corresponding line-height still needs to be defined and will be influenced by the point above.
Subtasks & related tasks:
  • Revisit CSS breakpoints (T303522)
  • Define a grid system for Codex (T90687)
  • Define the system's spacing and sizing tokens (T297000)
  • Define the system's typographic styles (T296998)
