Deployment timing

The Reply and New Discussion Tools will be made available as opt-in Beta Features at en.wiki on TUESDAY, 16-MARCH

Test instructions

1. Visit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-betafeatures
2. Verify the Discussion tools beta feature is available
3. "Check" the checkbox next to the Discussion tools beta feature to turn it on
4. Visit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing
5. Verify the Discussion pages section is visible and the following settings are visible and "turned on" (read: checkboxes are "checked")
   • Enable quick replying
   • Enable quick topic adding
6. Visit a talk page and do the following:
   • Verify [ reply ] links are visible
   • Click a [ reply ] link and verify the Reply Tool opens
   • Click the New section link and verify the New Discussion Tool opens
7. Visit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing and "uncheck" the Discussion tools beta feature
8. Visit a talk page and do the following:
   • Verify [ reply ] links are NOT visible
   • Click the New section link and verify the existing workflow opens
