Are the plans to remove all related data from the databases? Right now, the MediaWiki API says the Education( talk) namespaces don't exist, but such pages are still in the database. This causes errors for some analytical tools like XTools. We have the page_title, but we can't display it because we don't know what the namespace is.

Delete the lot after dumping?

This is my feeling. I see from T188407 there are concerns on accessing historical data. So I would dump it somewhere so everyone can access it, then remove all data from the database. As it stands now, I consider the lingering data to be corrupt.

No, a bot wouldn't need approval. It's not like it's doing mass unattended changes to pages. It would be one just dumping the contents to some pre determined pages

Otherwise a bot may be needed to edit all of the pages in that category, if a workaround can't be implemented in the template that populates that category.

Thanks for asking @MBH but note that "Flow" (name used previously) is now called Structured Discussion is still very valid and is highly used. See an example SD topic or discussion thread: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:V6hzurgtb4qe02pi

In addition, in the SD code base, see the namespace here: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/plugins/gitiles/mediawiki/extensions/Flow/ /master/extension.json#772 (which is still being used).

The extension is not dead/cancelled, it was just renamed to "StructuredDiscussions". Sorry if the rename caused any confusion and hope my response helps :)

@D3r1ck01 It "is still very valid and is highly used" not in big wikis like enwiki, commons, ruwiki, where it recognized as unusable disaster, which makes using history, reverting vandals and complex multilevel discussions impossible. As far as I know, WMF abandoned an idea to force every project use Flow, its new idea to simplify discussions (presented on last Wikimania) is JS script over normal talk pages. I'm interested, can this NS and extension be completely removed from ruwiki (local consensus exists)?

Can we get a way ahead for T188407 before this one moves forward? On some wikis this extension saw a lot of use and there is valuable material there that should not just be dumped without a method of retrieval.

And by that I mean in a more user-friendly format than a database dump (re: T186325#4615400) so that regular users can access their previous content.
