Tungkol sa amin
ADB's Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP) fills market gaps for trade and supply chain finance by providing guarantees and loans to banks to support trade. Backed by its AAA credit rating, ADB’s TSCFP works with over 200 partner banks to provide companies with the financial support they need to engage in import and export activities in Asia’s most challenging markets. With dedicated trade finance specialists and a response time of 24 hours, the TSCFP has established itself as a key player in the international trade community, providing fast, reliable, and responsive trade and supply chain finance support to fill market gaps. ADB's TSCFP empowers partners to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by closing market gaps through guarantees, loans, and knowledge solutions. Since 2009, the TSCFP has supported $57 billion in trade across 45,510 transactions (65% SME-related). TSCFP complements its financial support with knowledge products, including a study that quantifies market gaps for trade finance, initiatives to increase the role of women in banking, efforts to enhance environmental safeguards, and initiatives to fight crime through greater transparency in the global financial system. TSCFP also provides workshops and webinars to increase knowledge and expertise in matters related to finance, trade, risk management, and fraud prevention.

▶️ PODCAST | Steven Beck on the development and role of MDBs in global trade According to a joint Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) report, in 2022, global MDBs provided $60.9 billion of climate financing to low and middle-income countries, and $38.8 billion for high-income economies, totalling nearly $100 billion. This is just one example of the impact that MDBs have on the global economy. But how did they get to this point, and how else can MDBs impact international trade? At the 56th Annual FCI Meeting in Seoul, Deepesh Patel, Editorial Director at Trade Finance Global, was joined on Trade Finance Talks by Steven Beck, Head of Trade and Supply Chain Finance, Asian Development Bank (ADB) to discuss the role of MDBs in the facilitation of trade and supply chain finance. 🎧 Listen to the full podcast by following the link in the comments section below ⬇️ #tradefinance #supplychainfinance #internationaltrade #podcast

Driving Trade Digitalization Digitalizing trade is at the core of ADB TSCFP's mandate. ADB partnered with ICC Bangladesh, DSI, the U.S. Department of State, and International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) to support a four-day event in Dhaka on this relevant topic. The event, attended by more than 200 people, underscored the transformative potential of paperless trade for Bangladesh and the international trade ecosystem. Edimon Ginting, Country Director at ADB Bangladesh Resident Mission emphasized how trade digitalization can increase growth and create jobs by expanding access to global trade networks for developing economies. Aligning domestically with UNCITRAL's Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR) is crucial to establishing a globally harmonized digital trade ecosystem. Bangladesh is on the right path to promoting a digital ecosystem, and the local adoption of MLETR could help build the necessary framework for the effective use of electronic trade documents, such as electronic bills of lading (eBLs). This initiative can help accelerate transactions, enhance traceability, reduce costs, and mitigate fraud risks, paving the way for a harmonized digital trade environment that supports sustainable economic growth. #MLETR #DigitalizingTrade #Trade Steven Beck Neha Noronha Carmen María Ramírez Ortiz Ataur Rahman ICC Secretary General Pamela Mar Tianmi Stilphen

ADB’s Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP) and Pakistan join Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Conference to discuss Results of Their Trade-Based Money Laundering Pilot ADB’s TSCFP and Pakistan’s Financial Monitoring Unit, Govt. of Pakistan (Financial Intelligence Unit of Pakistan) explained their joint (with Bangladesh, Mongolia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka) Trade-Based Money Laundering (TBML) pilot and the pilot’s results to officials of the Greater Mekong Region. TBML is a seriously under-reported issue and the conference was a great opportunity to socialize the ADB’s TBML pilot in the lead up to proposing its expansion to other countries and possibly globally.
