Ever walked into a room full of executives & felt like a complete outsider?
For years, I stood out as the only expat woman leader at almost every event I attended in the Philippines.
At first, I felt out of place but I soon realized: this was my chance to shake things up & redefine leadership in the Philippines.
I'm Fiona Kesby, CEO of GoTeam, and my journey has been anything but conventional.
My path to leadership took a dramatic turn when I relocated to the Philippines as a single mother of two. I sold everything I owned, taking a leap of faith that led to helping scale GoTeam, now a leader in AI-powered outsourcing.
From the start, our mission at GoTeam has been clear: revolutionize the outsourcing industry & set a new standard for remote work excellence.
We kicked off by introducing groundbreaking benefits like medical insurance from Day 1—a first in the Philippines outsourcing sector.
We then cultivated a culture prioritizing engagement & growth, launching initiatives like our "Connection Cards" to foster meaningful conversations & set an example for remote teams globally.
As we evolved, our Founder (my Brother) Matt Kesby & I focused on equipping our teams with AI skills, the toolset of the future. This helped clients boost productivity, optimize processes, & achieve more with less.
The impact of our initiatives extended beyond individual businesses, reshaping the landscape of remote work & setting new industry standards.
Our work drew attention from forums like Google Business Group & YPO Construction Industry Network, where I've shared my insights; and earned us awards such as "Expat of the Year" from the CEO Asia Forum, a Silver Stevie for Innovative Management, & the ACES Leadership Award.
Today, we're the leader in AI-Powered Outsourcing, having grown into a million-dollar business servicing 170 clients globally.
But what drives me most is our impact: for every 100 onshore employees, our system can add $2M in net profit to our clients' businesses within 2 years by focusing on three areas:

2. AI-Powered Execution: Our 50 development team creates custom AI tools to boost productivity.

Another common client question we get asked at VA Platinum is whether all our virtual assistants work from home. It’s easy to assume that will be the case but not necessarily. For our Australian clients, given that our VAs are based in Cebu in the Philippines, they’ll certainly be remote/offshore but not necessarily working in isolation from their homes. In fact, Over 95% of our VAs work from the office and we actively look for excellent candidates who prefer working in the office rather than working from home. That helps us to build a great team culture and allows our team members to support and help each other when necessary. It’s a nice balance. Each VA works exclusively for a specific client, so they develop a deep understanding of the client’s business and processes but they are still part of a vibrant team.
