GLAM digital with the August Bebel Institute - "Wiki Loves Democracy Part III" and new GLAM-on-Tour-Film released
ByWiki Loves Democracy III - A virtual exchange with the August Bebel Institute
One of the strengths of de.wikipedia is that articles on parliamentarianism, the history of the labour movement in Germany, the free democratic basic order, the resistance to National Socialism and the concept of democracy are well developed thanks to all the authors. At the same time, we all realise that Wikipedia will never be complete. This GLAM digital event in June 2024 offered the opportunity to discuss the history of the Institute of Civic Education in more detail at a virtual event with Reinhard Wenzel, Managing Director and Director of Studies at the August Bebel Institute in Berlin.
The event also offered the opportunity to get some inspiration for the content and editing of thematic Wikipedia articles and to discuss further cooperation.
More about the event here.
More informations about the event format "GLAM digital" you can find here and here.
New GLAM-on-Tour film released
The film was made on the occasion of the GLAM on Tour event in Potsdam 2023 about the great commitment of the volunteers of the Wikimedia projects and the resulting wonderful cooperation with cultural and memory institutions can now be viewed. The GLAM-on-Tour-Films are a great way to spread the word about the openGLAM idea and to promote collaboration and further open up more GLAM-Institutions to the Wikimedia-Projects in order to create even more free knowledge.
