To prevent stakeholder misunderstandings while working toward social impact goals, prioritize clear, consistent communication. Regular updates, transparency in decision-making, and aligning expectations from the start are key. Encourage feedback, listen actively, and foster an environment of collaboration. This builds trust and ensures everyone is on the same page, driving impactful results.
-
Your social impact goals are at odds with financial stability. How can you strike a balance between the two?
Balancing social impact with financial stability requires strategic planning and creativity. Start by diversifying revenue streams through a mix of grants, donations, and sustainable business models like social enterprises. Focus on high-impact, low-cost initiatives to maximize resources. Foster partnerships with businesses or governments to share costs and expand reach. Prioritize transparency in financial management to build trust with donors and stakeholders. Lastly, continuously measure impact to ensure resources are aligned with the mission, creating a balanced approach to both goals.

3 (more) ways to improve your enrolment calls. Last week, I shared essential tips for improving enrolment calls. As promised, here are a few more. 𝟏. 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 Perhaps you’re a great coach, but if you can't articulate your offer, you'll struggle to create clients and have the impact you want. Sometimes, you may have demonstrated the value of your coaching enough for a clear 'yes' at the end of the call, but often, prospective clients want you to share a little more about what you do and how you do it. Here’s some questions to consider. - How do you help? - What results have your clients achieved? - What does the process look like? - How do you deliver and what’s the investment? Make a note of all this and master the art of articulating your work. It makes all the difference. 𝟐. 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐬 So many coaches I help struggle to confidently say their fees in front of prospective clients. I used to charge £10 per session, so I get it and feel your pain. If you were like me, your voice might wobble and tremble when it comes to speaking about money or sharing your value. Let’s make this simple: find a number that aligns with you, and practice saying your fees like it’s your phone number. That’s how it should sound because that’s all it is. It’s information your prospective client requires in order to make a decision. Practice saying your fees like it’s your phone number. 𝟑. 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 What agreements did you make before you ended the call? The answer I often get to this question is, you guessed it - zero! It’s such a simple step, but I see coaches missing this time and time again. The best bit of advice I can give about the end of your enrolment call is to slow down. Slow right down so everything is clear. Clear is kinder for you and your prospective client. If you’ve agreed to work together, slow down and make some clear agreements. When’s the first session? Get your diary out and book it in. And never forget to ask this simple question... When are you able to make payment? This one will save you a lot of anxiety. Expectations are confusing, whereas Agreements are powerful. Never forget to leave the call without both of you being clear on agreements and next steps. ----------- P.S. Wanna read my previous 3 enrolment call tips? Here it is: https://lnkd.in/eiSRvTSf P.P.S. I help coaches like you master the art of articulating your offer and learning the skills to run an effective enrolment call. DM me if you'd like a chat

Most canine professionals invest years in qualifications and building expertise. Are you putting your deck chairs out at the right time? For business advisers, timing is critical in business development. When you first interact with a potential client, it’s possible they don’t have an immediate need for your services. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t in the future. Staying on their radar is essential so that when their needs arise, you're top of mind. Being memorable often hinges more on personal connections than on technical expertise. Building authentic relationships helps you stand out when decision-makers shift strategies or review their suppliers. Business dynamics also change over time—people retire, successors step in, and these new leaders may have different priorities. Regular engagement with your target audience ensures that you remain relevant as their circumstances evolve. Consistent, thoughtful outreach can turn the right timing into the perfect opportunity. And one day the sun will shine in Dublin, Dundee, Humberside. #panicthesmiths #businessdevelopment #timing
