From June 14th – 24th, 2024, the Lakeshore West team successfully executed a 10-day road closure on Burloak Drive. This 10-day road closure allowed the team to divert the current railway tracks, allowing for full train service during the construction of the future grade separation. This was a challenging and complex job that required a lot of planning, coordination, and dedication from the whole team. Everyone worked extremely hard to ensure that the construction works were done safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to the community. Thank you to everyone involved who made this possible. You are making a positive difference to the daily commute of thousands of people who rely on this line. It has been 730 days since we signed the contract for the Central Plant & Tunnel project in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) and we are proud to able to show you some of the team’s achievements. 😎 The timelapse 🎞 below takes you back to where it all started, and highlights the action so far: · 283 piles constructed. · 390m capping beams installed. · 4500 m2 of temporary shotcrete walls. · 19,500m3 of spoil excavated. · Construction of three of the four floors in the plant building. PROJECT PROGRESS: The Swanson Dock West Remediation Project involves restoring the existing 1970s-era wharf's structural capacity well into the future, ensuring that it is fit for purpose for its key role in supporting container trade into Melbourne. Works currently underway include new land-side piles, a reinforced concrete deck, hydro-demolition and remediation of existing concrete elements, installation of cathodic protection, and replacement of crane rails.
