Facilitated by Caro Swanson and Malcolm Mckenna, the focus of these workshops is on sharing together both the potential of how you can incorporate CPSLE values and competencies into your daily mahi and hearing and learning from how you already do. We are heading to Kaikohe on 22 October (hosted by Arataki Ministries) and Kaitaia on 23 October. 🌍 Today, we celebrate International Day of Older Persons, a time to celebrate the value of older people and a chance to acknowledge their contributions to our communities. At Te Pou, we recognise that mental health challenges and addiction issues among older people require urgent attention and innovative solutions. For the last two years, we held an Older Persons' Mental Health and Addiction Leadership Day to create space for attendees to elevate and take action to support older persons’ mental health and addiction experiences. At the inaugural leadership day in 2023, attendees identified key priorities and solutions for the older persons’ mental health and addiction sector which we are using to inform the future work Te Pou undertakes to support the workforce. As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Week, let’s take a moment to reflect on today’s theme, which is Whakawhetai - to give thanks, be grateful. Gratitude is a powerful tool for enhancing our mental wellbeing and fostering resilience. Taking time to reflect on what we’re thankful for can shift our mindset and help us find joy, even amidst challenges. 💚 What are you grateful for today? As Mental Health Awareness Week continues, today we focus on the theme of Tūhono - connection and belonging. In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel isolated, but building and nurturing our connections is essential for our mental wellbeing. Let’s take a moment today to reach out. Check in on a colleague, join a group discussion, or simply share a smile. Every small gesture helps create a culture of support and understanding. 💚 #MHAW #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek2024 Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand

For day 3 of Mental Health Awareness Week, we celebrate the power of whānau - our family, friends, and community. 👨👩👧👦 Whānau plays a crucial role in our wellbeing, providing support, understanding, and connection. In times of challenge, it’s often our loved ones who lift us up and remind us that we’re not alone. Today let’s take a moment to reach out to those we care about, whether it’s a phone call, a shared meal, or simply expressing gratitude, every action counts. For Rātū (Tuesday) this Mental Health Awareness Week, we are focusing on Tautoko. 🤝 The meaning of Tautoko is to support, prop up, verify, advocate, accept, and agree. In the realm of mental health, this is a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together as a community.
