We are proud this week to have celebrated Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, a vital opportunity for our organisation to embrace and promote the richness of te reo Māori and its cultural significance. Our hospitals used a variety of different resources to embrace the revitalisation of te reo Māori such as talking buttons pre-recorded with kupu Māori and accompanied by a correlated card, Kēmu ‘IkaIka’ (Go fish) cards, access to tikanga and te reo Māori apps, quizzes and online education sessions. Many thanks to our Hospital Hauora Māori Committees for bringing this work to life.   This week is not just about language, but about strengthening our commitment to be a more inclusive, diverse workplace where Māori culture and values are truly respected and integrated. #SouthernCrossHealthcare #tewikiotereomaori #maorilanguageweek
