Exciting News! But first, what are you watching and why does it matter? We're hearing more and more about: "The War on Cash" "Central Bank Digital Currencies" "Banks, Credit Card Companies and now "Fintech" Siphoning Value from Local Communities" "National Currency Inflation, and Hyperinflation..." "Central Bank Monetary Policies Fueling Ecocide and Inequality" & so much more of our crises are rooted in our financial systems and their monetary policies. IMO this is simply because the obvious. Our financial systems are how we humans coordinate at scale ("money makes the world go round" as they say). Whatever worldviews the creators of money hold, fundamentally impacts the lives of the humans who are part of the money system. imo creating our own money's(plural) for the ReGen movement - or any movement - is a critical transition tool to help us coordinate the more beautiful worlds our hearts know is possible! ❤️ So, now the news... The Katuah Bioregion just launched it's mutual credit currency! This currency will be governed by the Katuah Bioregional DAO (see comments). This currency is free to use, decentralized, transparent, and democratically governed by those who will use it! Because cash is still governed by whatever entity is issuing it - this means cash is not neutral. - and so far it's been almost impossible to build the new world with the tools of the old. Maybe Audre Lorde was onto something when she said: "The Master's Tools Will Never Dismantle the Master's House" So, maybe we don't have to spend any time resisting the "war on cash" and instead opt-into new economic systems? We can go cashless (and opt-out of the worldviews embedded in that cash) AND create a better world through decentralizing and localizing our currencies. If 50 people comment "I'm here to create a bioregional currency" I'll know there's enough demand and I'll make a video going over exactly how we created our currency and how to create yours. 🫂
