“Holy dazzling light Batman, could it be…? Yes, it’s the Bird Signal!”. Which can only mean one thing – the hunt is on for the hidden Bluebird Golden Birds. Find them and the $$ are all yours. We were certainly excited to light up Auckland’s downtown with this not-so-subtle clue – making sure NZ’s funnest promo kicks off with a bang. Or, more to the point, a 50 foot glowing penguin. Join in on the shenanigans over on the Bluebird IG - @bluebird_nz. Happy munching (and winning) NZ!

Surprisingly, it’s December again. While some lay awake at night, wondering how to make this time of year special for loved ones, Raydar’s fast asleep – comforted by the fact our clever design department had the festive foresight to arrange another Christmas win. So, how do you bring more unbridled joy than the humble rope swing? Or more Raydar spirit than a crafted kite collection? Design Director Mark Cooper had the answer. Well, more specifically, the sauce. This year, a few lucky clients received a gift previously thought impossible: Raydar’s secret sauce – bottled and branded. Of course, the creativity, tenacity, and integrity was replaced with all-natural and organic ingredients, but the result was the same: a signature flavour only Raydar can bring to the table. The perfect accompaniment to Kiwi summer, this gift dishes out hits of Raydar spice, even while we’re OOO for the holidays – keeping us top-of-mind and tip-of-tongue all summer long. Big thanks to Apostle Hot Sauce for providing the goods, as well as our suppliers 5 Digital and Torque Digital for helping make it all happen. The festivities wouldn’t be as fiery without you.

It’s about time we gave a spotlight to our fresh Experiential team, Abbie, Phoebe, and Miłka. Abbie packed a full suitcase of event and Marketing experience from Scotland to unleash onto the NZ public. Not before a decade in Melbourne, cramming in some management expertise, that is. Why she chose Raydar? Dogs (mainly). A dog-friendly office meant dog-friendly people – who could also do some pretty awesome work. While born and bred in NZ, Phoebe hates Hokey Pokey ice-cream and lived in London for two years, working as a Nanny and workplace coordinator. We’ll forgive her though, as her energy and experience in event management brings another level to our team. (Plus, she has a tattoo of a marmite jar.) Milka, our latest addition, completes the trio with years of ad and activation experience. Originally from Poland—then almost becoming an Aussie—Milka’s spent the past year on our shores working in PR before becoming Raydar-official. Not just a hard worker but a weapon behind the potter’s wheel, we can’t wait to see her creativity manifest in-house. Already collaborating as though they’re telepathically connected, we’re confident we’ve got our hands on some hot property.

We couldn’t announce our latest and greatest Weet-Bix Stat Attack campaign without offering up a sneak peek into the amazing work itself. From the special edition 25th anniversary pack to Dan Carter reaching Gold Card status, none of it could’ve been possible without enormous amounts of passion and craft from everyone involved. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think of this year’s collection.

After a competitive search, we’re thrilled to introduce Tony Clewett as the new Creative Director for Raydar. No stranger to the advertising scene, Tony brings over 25 years of experience, countless awards, and even more passion for the work along with him. Overseeing the creative department with a fresh approach to shopper, we’re confident Tony will help cement Raydar’s ability to influence choice and deliver creative that both clients and the team can be proud of. Only two weeks in and Tony’s positive impact can already be felt throughout all departments. We can’t wait to see how the work develops in the weeks to come. Watch this space!
