Last week, we got to say a huge congratulations to Victor Peinado who took out an Agency Rockstar award in the Google Honours AUNZ quarterly awards.   We know Victor is an absolute secret weapon for all the clients lucky enough to work with him and his team and he’s an absolute joy to have in team PHD. At the Marketing Association’s Sunrise Sessions, PHD's very own Chris Young and Susan Bensemen from ANZ Aotearoa joined a fireside chat on how brand and agency can partner successfully with Integral Ad Science to drive media quality! It was such an insightful and valuable discussion!

Last week, James Davidson PHD Aotearoa’s GM of Planning, spoke as an industry expert at the Commercial Communications Council Strategy Planning Lab! James along with Sue Kipling from YoungShand. and Matt Kingston from FCB Aotearoa shared the Principles of Comms Strategy which provided attendees with tools and best practises to maximise value for their clients. 

Amazing to see the PAK'nSAVE Summer Intern campaign be awarded a Gold at Festival of Media, a huge congratulations to our amazing clients and partners FCB Aotearoa & TVNZ who worked collaboratively to bring this campaign to life with the PHD team.

Securing the top spot with a nearly 70-point lead is ‘Phone It In’ by PHD Auckland / Colenso BBDO Auckland for Skinny, a telecommunications provider in New Zealand. Skinny empowered its customers to serve as advocates for the brand, creating radio scripts and inviting individuals to read them into answering machines. This resulted in 2,500 recordings made, a 6% increase in brand consideration and 34% increase in customer acquisition. Celebrations are well underway at PHD Aotearoa having been named by WARC Media 100 as the second most awarded media agency in the world and its Skinny Phone It In campaign being recognised as the number one most awarded media campaign in the world.     An industry favourite, The WARC Media 100 is an annual review of the world’s most awarded campaigns and companies for media and is a trusted benchmark for media excellence worldwide.    Nikki Grafton, CEO of PHD Aotearoa, said that she is thrilled to see the New Zealand agency ranked so highly on a global scale and that these accolades are a testament to the agency’s continued dedication to sustaining a creative and innovative approach.       “It has been incredibly rewarding for PHD Aotearoa to be recognised as the second most awarded media agency globally. We extend the congratulations to our clients and the creative teams we work so closely alongside to bring these campaigns to life,” said Grafton.      These successes depict another promising year for PHD, who in 2023 won more than a hundred awards at global, regional, and local market levels. These include 12 trophies at the 2023 Festival of Media Global Awards, and four Media Lions at Cannes. This morning to celebrate International Women’s Day with the agency team, PHD Aotearoa held an inspiring panel discussion. The panel team included PHD CEO Nikki Grafton, Managing Director Abby Parkin and Head of Media and Investment Helen Brown with topics spanning workplace diversity, overcoming systematic barriers as a woman and career progression considerations and advice.   “PHD has a long and proud history of strong female role-models, it’s a privilege to see this continue and to be able to work alongside so many inspirational women today,” said Nikki Grafton.

Last night PHD took home ADWEEK’s 2024 Global Media Agency of the Year award.   Nikki Grafton PHD Aotearoa CEO, said, “PHD Aotearoa is proud to be an integral part of this achievement and want to acknowledge our incredible team and agency partners who have helped make this happen.”   PHD continues to be an industry leader across the globe and PHD Aotearoa is proud to contribute towards prestigious global achievements such as this award.   Locally, PHD Aotearoa also recently won the New Zealand Media Agency of the Year at the 2023 Asia-Pacific Agency of the Year awards.
