On Sunday 14th July, the Shakespear Open Sanctuary Society Incorporated (SOSSI), one of 11 charities supported by the VINCI New Zealand Foundation, held one of four annual public tree plantings at Shakespear Regional Park. This day saw 164 dedicated volunteers, including Omexom New Zealand (Electrix) staff and their families, gather for three hours with the aim of enhancing the local environment, and protecting local wildlife. Omexom is one of seven companies in New Zealand belonging to the VINCI Group. Armed with shovels, gloves, an abundance of enthusiasm and bundled against the cold, volunteers were spread out across the designated planting area, which had been carefully prepared by the organisers in advance. "It's amazing to see so many people coming together for such a great cause!” said Omexom Works Planner Gayle Rubeus. “Planting trees not only helps the environment and wildlife, but also brings our community closer." #omexom #weareomexom #vincienergies #electrix #environment #wildlifeprotection #conservation

The South Auckland Schools Career Expo took place 27th June at the Due Drop Events Centre in Wiri. The day started off with a powhiri, and schools were scheduled throughout the day, with some students returning to attend with their whanau. Maintenance Supervisor Nico Consalves and Project Engineer Jodene Meredith from Infrastructure Large Projects unit were part of the team at the Omexom New Zealand (Electrix) stand, enthusiastically sharing their firsthand experience and knowledge of their respective fields. Having Nico and Jodene onsite encouraged the interested attendees to find out who we are and what we do. There were 20 local high schools with approximately 4,450 students who walked through the doors. The attendees were very interested in the Omexom stand, the types of projects we were involved in, and they interacted keenly with our Omexom staff, especially the year 13 students and career guidance counsellors. #omexom #weareomexom #vincienergies #electrix #careerswithomexom #electricitysupplyindustry #renewablejobs

This Te Wiki Tūao ā-Motu – National Volunteer Week, Omexom New Zealand (Electrix) wishes to thank the volunteers of New Zealand. Within Omexom, for example, there are a number of staff who are fire and emergency volunteers. This week is an opportunity to recognise volunteers and thank them for their service. Selflessness and service are two words that come to mind when we think of the 12,000 fire and emergency volunteers. It takes a special kind of person to drop everything at a moment’s notice to respond to a call for help. Volunteers make up 80% of the fire emergency workforce, who serve as firefighters, operational support, medical first responders, and brigade support. They respond to fires and a range of other emergencies and spread the word about fire safety. To our Fire and Emergency volunteers, we thank you for your service and the part you play in protecting our community. #omexom #weareomexom #vincienergies #electrix #volunteer #volunteering #makingadifference #servingthecommunity Rafael Nazareth MIET Brent Vaile Brad Eyre Blake Scotland
