It was a pleasure to have Civil Defence Waikato on-site today as their generator was being installed. 🤝 We are proud that our property, Mystery Creek Events Centre serves as an alternate Group Emergency Coordination Centre and that we can work with the amazing team at Waikato Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group to enhance our region's emergency response capabilities.
This morning, a 250KVA KeyPower Generator was delivered to Mystery Creek, supplied by the Waikato Civil Defence Emergency Management Group as part of an ongoing collaboration between us and Mystery Creek Events Centre. Mystery Creek Events Centre is our alternate Group Emergency Coordination Centre. Our organisations work together to increase our region’s capability to respond to emergencies through exercising, planning, and sharing facilities and equipment. This generator will help to keep things running if we’re using Mystery Creek Events Centre in an emergency. It can also be easily deployed to other parts of the region to power Emergency Operations Centres in our districts if needed. Thanks to Mystery Creek for their continued support! 🤝

This week we have lost a wonderful, much-respected man, colleague and friend, who so many will miss dearly. RIP Ron.
It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell to a dear member of our team, Ron Fleming who, this week passed away after a short illness. As our Risk Coordinator, Ron was in charge of all things health and safety, making sure that everyone – staff, volunteers, contractors, exhibitors, event organisers, and event-goers – were safe on-site, at every Fieldays event, and the many other events that take place at Mystery Creek Events Centre each year. Rest in peace friend, the amount we will miss you is incredible.

Last month we had 32 primary-aged students from Ōhaupō School, Rukuhia School, Kaipaki School, and Tamahere Model Country School join us at Mystery Creek Events Centre for a morning of environmental education. The children participated in activities that included learning about water quality and testing, appreciation and connection to their environment, and even pest trapping. We'd like to thank our supporters NZ Landcare Trust - Ngā Matapopore Whenua, the Environmental Protection Authority NZ, and Wilderlab.
