Last week our CEO Avan Lee was in Auckland to take part in the Pasifika Strategy Steering Group. Their talanoa was about how to create more equitable opportunities for Pasifika within rugby. Topics spanned from attracting, supporting, and equipping more Pasifika to participate in rugby in Aotearoa New Zealand, to playing to non‑playing roles at all levels. The Hurricanes represents the Hurricanes Investec Super Rugby team. Founded in 1996, the Hurricanes are based in Wellington and play the majority of their home matches at Sky Stadium. The Hurricanes represent eight provincial unions - East Coast, Horowhenua Kapiti, Manawatu, Poverty Bay, Wairararapa Bush, Wanganui and Wellington. The team’s storied history includes one Investec Super Rugby title (2016) and two Investec Super Rugby minor premierships (2015, 2016). As an organization, the Hurricanes are striving to be the best sports and entertainment organization in the country. Our club is now looking to the future to continue to work to provide the best fan experience possible.
