We’re so excited to announce that Lightly and Denn, both designed by Formway, are being recognised by the Dezeen Awards and the Best Awards! We did a double take when we read the Dezeen Awards summary in the studio: “The world’s 47 most outstanding designs… by 46 shortlisted studios”— 47 designs, by 46 studios… why the mismatch?? Because Formway is the only studio responsible for two designs in the final round of the Dezeen Awards! We’re up against designs from 18 countries, and we’re in good company sitting alongside Zaha Hadid Design and Foster Partners. And if that wasn’t enough, we have two more successes to celebrate! The New Zealand Best Awards wrapped up over the weekend—our Denn Chair took home two Gold Pins there, too! In the Dezeen Awards we have the Lightly Chair designed for Noho shortlisted in the Furniture category and the Denn Chair designed for Zenith Interiors Pty Ltd in the workplace category. In the Best Awards the Denn Chair picked up two Gold Pins for Furniture Design and Sustainable Product Design. We’re chuffed. Design from Aotearoa taking on the world—one chair at a time. Special thanks to our partners at Noho and Zenith Interiors, and to everyone who is along for this journey with us. Gorgeous photography of the Denn Chair courtesy of Zenith. The last two photos are from the Best Awards ceremony, where Chris Bisman and Fabian Harbeck represented Formway and the design team for the Denn Chair which includes (but isn’t limited to…) James Prier, Rachael Hall, Oliver Short, Jacob de Lesseps, Hugh McCoshim, Joe McDonald, and of course, our Co-CEOs Paul Wilkinson and Kent Parker. Teamwork makes the dream work!
