Last month we reached an important milestone in our sustainability journey at TR Group by adding our 50th alternative fuel vehicle to the fleet. Our goal is to lead the way in offering our customers cost-effective, sustainable, zero and reduced emission solutions which is exactly what this new Mercedes-Benz eActros for NZ Post represents. Paul Booth, Transport Logistics Manager at NZ Post told us the truck “is going to be delivering parcels on the North Shore. We’re looking forward to seeing this eActros on the road and it’s a great step on our sustainability journey.” To date our alternative fuel vehicles have traveled a total of 1,328,725kms, saved a total of 193,305 litres of diesel and not emitted 521,921kgs of CO2 into the atmosphere. These are numbers we’re immensely proud of and look forward to having an even greater impact as we continue to improve our sustainability efforts. This is the third alternative fuel truck we have partnered with NZ Post to put on the road. The Hyundai Xcient Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) was handed over to them in May 2023 and has now traveled over 80,000kms. FCEVs offer the same driving experience as a Battery Electric Vehicle, but typically offer better range at 400kms when carting higher weights. If you’re interested in finding out more on how to begin transitioning your heavy commercial fleet to zero emissions, contact our alternative fuel specialists Shayne Barns ([email protected]) and Scott Donnelly ([email protected]) to discuss the options that will work for you. #sustainability #zeroemission #electricvehicle
